Very nice!

What the deuce ever happened to separation of C&S anyway? I mean, our highest elected official with his hand on a bible during an oath to uphold our constitution, which explicitly says not to do such a thing? Oh well, I really like Obama, and he did mention us in his speech...

I've been wondering that myself. Hand on the bible to get sworn in as president. Hand on the bible when swearing to tell the truth in court. My question is, what would happen if you refused to put your hand on the bible in court because of your atheist beliefs? Do you think they'd let me substitute On The Origin of Species in court instead of the bible? I think not.

I'm at work so can't do YouTube (no idea what it's even about) so all I can say is Kirk would kick Picard's arse any day of the week, month, year or millennium.

Don't make Picard angry. You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

I've been to court on several occasions and they never handed me a bible.  They actually swore a group of witnesses in at once and then we signed, no bible.  I think it depends on where you are but in Bell County, Texas and Henrico County, Virginia there is no bible.  It's not like it would affect my telling the truth anyway.....but maybe it gets the Christians to behave so works for me, ha! :D

Star Trek rules, period.  No money, no Gods.  Like Worf said: "Our gods are dead. Ancient Klingon warriors slew them a millenia ago. They were...more trouble than they were worth."
-Worf, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, “Homefront”

Well yeah ... except that "Babylon 5", "Battlestar Galactica" and "Firefly" all beat the pants off it (at least from Next Gen on)

I did quite like the Borg though ... and Seven? Yum!

I have yet to meet anyone who didn't like Seven of Nine.  Babylon 5 stunk, and I've never seen Firefly.  But, I totally agree with Battlestar, it's great.  I just wish someone would get rid of Lee, he works my nerves, goodie-two-shoes!

Seven of Nine? One of the worst actresses of our time. Stacked? Sure. But there are plenty of women that are nice on the eyes that can also act up a storm. Babylon 5 was great for it's time, but Battlestar (reimagined) really is the one and only best science fiction space drama in history.

And Lee? He rebelled against Olmos, he pulled a gun on Tigh, had a torrid relationship with a whore, he tried to passively commit suicide, he tried to abandon cylon occupied New Caprica, he cheated on his wife repeatedly, and he almost tossed cylon Tigh out an airlock. Don't get me wrong, he's clearly the moral core of the show, but I don't how if goodie-two-shoes is quite on the mark.

[spoiler:7ivf9uxx]And I think we all know Lee will be taking over the civilian government after Roselyn finally passes away from her cancer. He kinda has to stick around.[/spoiler:7ivf9uxx]

What? Seven of Nine was a Borg....she acted like a Borg....

Maybe that's it, Lee is always trying to walk the fence and do the right thing which has been inconflict with what I think should be happening, so maybe that's my big problem with him.  It's personal  :pop:

It's why I watched Voyager (and only from 3.<whatever the last one was> on ... gawd I hated Kes!!!!!

Quote from: "VanReal"Babylon 5

You're insane ... it's what Star Trek was meant to be.

Quote from: "VanReal"Firefly

Lasted only 16 episodes or some such and rumour has it that Fox TV (I think it was Fox) cancelled it because it was "too atheist". Oh, and don't let anyone kid you that "Serenity" (Firefly film) was better ... the series rocks.

Quote from: "VanReal"But, I totally agree with Battlestar, it's great.  I just wish someone would get rid of Lee, he works my nerves, goodie-two-shoes!

Lee's OK (How can you not like him after the Tilium refinery raid?) , Kara Thrace ("nothing but the rain") is wicked, Baltar awesome ... the one they need to get rid of is Roslin.

What? She can act as well? You're sh**ting me! Actually I thought she was OK and she was pretty good in "Shark".

Heresy! Personally I thought Firefly was better but BSG has gone the distance so kudos to it's makers.

For once I agree ... I'd say he occupies the "straight man" position though.

Didn't know that, didn't suspect it ... just have to wait and see.

I've been watching through the entire series (currently on 4:03) before watching the new ones on Sky ... awesome! I never realised I missed so much!

Firefly was mesmerising. It is a real pity they cancelled the show. The film was incredible. Jewel Staite is YUM.

I went off Star Trek long ago. Too much of that show is based upon principles created in the 50's and they get out of sticky situations far too often by 'realigning the tachyon couplings'. As far as i'm concerned, almost all of the 'futurism' star Trek engenders is very 'yesterday'. I did enjoy the Picard era though.

Battlestar Galactica is impeccable. I can think of nothing they could do to make it better. I was most displeased when i found out the fifth season would be its last... I don't think anything will come close to its sci-fi grandeur for a very long time.

Well apart from the film (which I basically thought sucked) yeah ... Ms Staite was much better in Firefly than in Atlantis.
