Title: Sad Passings: Ricardo Montalban and Patrick McGoohan
Post by: joeactor on January 15, 2009, 12:33:32 AM
From CNN.com:

'Fantasy Island' actor Montalban dead at 88 (http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/14/ricardo.montalban/index.html)

Patrick McGoohan, star of 'The Prisoner,' dies (http://www.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/TV/01/14/obit.mcgoohan/index.html)

Both loomed large in my TV and Movie memories.

Hope they're off to Fantasy Island, and to meet Number 1...

I was glancing over the New Posts and I did a double-take. "Ricardo Montalban" just seemed to shout out off the screen. "Did I just see Ricardo Montalban?" I thought to myself. "Why, yes. Yes I did. And... he's dead. Whelp, there goes my day."

So strange that The Wrath of Khan was on the night before I saw this announcement.  He was 88 (I think) when he dies which means he wasn't exactly a spring chicken when he was in that movie.  I'm still pretty sure he had chest implants, hehe.

Actually, I'd heard they did a prosthetic chest for Wrath of Kahn...

Great final scene for him in that movie,
