Posting this a little late, but I just turned eighteen yesterday on January 1st! 
January 1st is really my birthday and I shit you not. Had a small party where my relatives came and chatted. Talked with my cousins about college and all the fun things to do there and they joked about taking me to Paper Moon, which is a local strip club. Also got berated by hundreds of dollars in cash. Looking forward to getting my ass out of my house and going to college to receive some well needed freedom and independence. Also, I've been putting this off, but I intend on reading The God Delusion this year when I'm not so lazy from school and picking up Religulous on Blu-ray when it comes out.

Too bad you stil can't drink, hold an HGV license or rent a car. You also can't run for president, vice president, or be a representative.

Happy birthday, belated of course! I wish I had some good advice for you, but I don't. Don't listen to Sophus, he's being so pessimistic about voting. Sorry Sophus, but I strongly disagree about voting. Godless, do your best not to miss elections. If we didn't vote, the only people who would vote would be the ultra-conservatives and our fucking rights be even more in jeopardy. Umm, what else...college is fun, yes, but keep focused.
