This is our current ad banner which I stick on things like my sig in other forums:

The images in the banner are stock photos that I paid a very small fee to use.  So, obviously, the people in the banner may or may not be atheists.  I thought it would be a good idea to fix that.

So, I'm creating a contest.  Winners will have their original pictures/images/artwork placed on the banner and get bragging rights.  One winner will be selected as the best entry and will receive a special rank title of their choosing.

At least 5 photos will be selected for the banner, one being also used for a static version.
Artwork submissions may be used in the above banner format or made into its own banner.
You may submit banner designs.
You can submit logo designs.

The requirements for submission are as follows:

1) Images must promote atheism and/or free-thought in a positive, happy, manner and should be aesthetically pleasing.
2) All submissions must be your original work.
3) Photos must be of yourself or consenting members of your family (no pictures of strangers).
4) By submitting photos in this thread you agree to allow their use in the creation of banners for the purpose of promoting the Happy Atheist Forum (HAF).  Banners promoting HAF may be included in future ad campaigns through Google Ad Words.  
5)  You have the right to retract permission to use your photo/image/artwork at any time.  Retraction requests must be sent to me (the admin) by private message to ensure the request is not overlooked.
6) You may submit as many images/photos/artwork as you want.
7) Since this is a public forum, you acknowledge that posting any material here, regardless of it's use for the contest purposes, could result in said material circulating throughout the internet.
8) Winners will be narrowed down by myself, if narrowing is necessary, then voted on by your peers.

Are there pixel dimension and file size requirements? Max/min sorta thing?

Good question.  

I prefer 468px × 60px banners in gif or jpg format  but could make use of any banner size (such as placing them on a page for users to grab and put on their own sites).  Here is a link to standard banner sizes http://www.simplygraphix.com/banners_sizes.html (http://www.simplygraphix.com/banners_sizes.html)

No less than 72px/inch to ensure image quality.  I have found that working in 150px/inch then sizing down tends to create the best results.

There is a 600px x 600px image posting limit set default on the forum.

For those that don't know how to control the above, just submit your stuff and I can re-size it as needed.

Sounds like fun.  I can't wait to see everyone's submissions.

I realized the autumn variant was kind of sucky, so I made a new one with amazing photoshop technology.

I'm going to leave this contest open for a while to allow people the time to submit stuff.  I'll determine a final entry date after the new year.

Here's a logo people can use for banner ideas (or come up with a better logo):

edit:  I fixed the image quality.  See attachment on next page or right click on logo at top of forum and select "view image".
