Oh, and House, of course. :hail:
TV series here in Germany are dubbed in the German language and are several seasons lagging behind the USA and England. The only series that I watch here occasionally are The Simpsons. My most favorite TV series I watch on DVD in the original language. Most of them are older British series, like Blackadder, Bottom, Red Dwarf and Fawlty Towers. Some American TV-Series that I liked and have on DVD are the X-Files, Twin Peaks and 24. When I still lived in the Netherlands I loved also to watch All in the Family, Mary Hartman, Cheers and of Star Trek of course.
When I was very young, I loved to watch Catweazle

and Floris which was a Dutch TV series that played in the Middle ages, directed by Paul Verhoeven and with Rudger Hauer in the leading part).

As much SF & Fantasy or mild horror as I can get my current favourites being "Stargate Atlantis" (predictable but fits like a well worn glove), "Pushing Daisies", "Battlestar Galactica" and my current obsession, "True Blood" ... my all time favourites are "Babylon 5", "Firefly" & "Buffy The Vampire Slayer".
My favourite non SF are "Burn Notice", "Dexter", "Life", "Grey's"Desperate Housewives" (getting a bit dull these days), "The Mentalist", "Carnivale" (not so modern but it's new to me), "The Sopranos" and "The Wire". All time favourites for non SF is more tricky ... "Dawson's Creek" maybe, "Everwood", but I suppose my favourites would be "Ed" (despite the cheesy ending) & "Rome"
I also watch some science documentary stuff.
Kyu
mostly discovery channel and national geographic
I used to watch a music show called tv-war, house, grey's anatomy and some others but now except from the documentaries and the weather I hardly ever watch tv anymore
We could leave Discovery or NatGeo on here 24/7 and be very happy campers indeed. A piece on NatGeo over the weekend about the moon had all three of us on the couch, mesmerized. And in HD too!
These are my current favs:
HEROES
Burn Notice (that season was way too short!)
Dexter (wow... just...wow! And his love interest played a pregnant vampire on "Angel"!)
Big Love
Big Bang Theory (THE best new show, IMHO)
How I Met Your Mother (LOVE Neil Patrick Harris... can't stop singing the soundtrack to "Dr. Horrible"!)
The L Word
American Idol
The Office
Project Runway
Pushing Daisies (will be sad to see this one end!)
Mythbusters
How It's Made
MXC
Scrubs
Desperate Housewives (but if he DOES get Sarah Palin to guest, I'm outta there... I hate casting stunts)
Ended but still watch on DVD:
Friends (gone but not forgotten)
Wonderfalls (only one season and cancelled, but check it out... has the guy from Pushing Daisies as the main character's brother who is an atheist theology student)
Dead Like Me (also cancelled, but wow, great show)
Ed (sigh... LOVED that show and yes, cheesy ending)
Buffy and Angel... I'm a closet Buffy fan.
On the rare occassion I actually decide to watch TV I'll watch House or Supernatural.
Oh, man, how could I forget:
Little Britain USA (video is SFW; sound is NSFW)
[youtube:1fsl8vgn]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0ESamS4JQA[/youtube:1fsl8vgn]
Trigger Happy TV (someone's collection of "best of")
[youtube:1fsl8vgn]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-gALplK3fs[/youtube:1fsl8vgn]
I miss the show on Disney Channel called "Dinosaurs"
NOT THE MAMMA
i also like How It's Made.
there's plenty more obviously but i don't feel like listing all of them right now
I think life is much more enjoyable without TV.

We don't need your kind here!
But seriously my roommate (a guy) watches Gossip Girl :D
Quote from: "curiosityandthecat"Oh, man, how could I forget:
"Sacred Waste" looked vaguely interesting but I can't stand "Little Britain" ... it's just one of those programs that gets right up my nose from the first thing. Um ... I don't suppose you might consider putting titles huh, especially as I do much of my HA'ing at work where I can't even access YouTube so I'd have no idea what you were on about unless I remember to check when I get home? Plizz? Pretty Plizz? Pretty pretty plizz?

I second that! Whatever happened to reading a good book?

Everyone relaxes differently. We love digital entertainment in this house, be it TV, video games, DVDs, etc. But we also have a wonderful bookcase filled with books. We TIVO what we want to watch at night and catch a few while we eat lunch before we work out and/or go back to work. In the evening, we do an hour of video games (if the kid has earned the time) and then we read, play board games, etc.
A well-rounded existence. I'd love nothing more than to sit in front of the tube and watch trash TV, while playing POGO or some other game on my laptop. And when I'm sick, sometimes I do.
