Everyone,
I spotted out this cool website www.paranormalknowledge.com (http://www.paranormalknowledge.com)
They have so many cool things on that site but one of the writers posted a debate Christianity vs. Atheism. They are debating by commenting. Let's post our views shall we.
Please support.
Looks like Angus jumped the gun and made a rookie mistake; he made too many arguments at the get go. I used to do that all the time, and it kills debates. Debates are about creating the atmosphere that welcomes new ideas before throwing them in the crucible.

But when the atmosphere is good and created, THEN we can make kebab out of poor logic, no?
I'm in favor of atheism and against Christianity.

In a forum called "The Happy Atheist"? Who'd'a thunk it? ;)

That was my inner politician moment.
EAS4LIFE (what does EAS stand for?), I wouldn't exactly call what they are doing in the comments "debate" more like little kids arguing.
The only civil post I saw from the theist side was by Cleverest on 10/6/08 @ 6:10, and I would have some things to say in disagreement towards that post. The rest of the posts either generally agreed with the OP or were donwnright stupid ('atheists are stupid' "go to church" etc is a stupid response...the least they could do is offer a reasoned explaination for why we are stupid, that would maybe allow them to provide support for the claim. Unsupported claims based on emotional views are stupid in the context of debate and unfavorable in other platforms).
If you are up for a real debate (I hope you are that Cleverest guy and not one of the rant 'debaters'), I welcome you to create 1) an Introductory post to help us know you a bit better and 2)A topic of your choosing that includes your argument and any supporting evidence/reason you may have.
I went ahead and responded to a couple of the posts. I thought I made some good comments even though I'll probably just get wailed on. Oh well it's fun either way.
