With all due respect, any information disseminated at this event is suspect and has no basis in scientific fact.

I can give you just as many arguments that god doesn't exist as you can produce those that say he does.  An argument is not proof or evidence.  We can argue all day, won't prove a thing.   :)

I could decimate Dr. Frank Turek in any debate format known to man. He's a liar, a charlatan, and an apologist. His arguments are fallaciousâ€"god of the gaps (argument from ignorance), misstating the arguments of his opponents (strawman), and attacking his opponents instead of their arguments (Ad hom).

BTW, anyone care to guess how much Dr. Frank Turek has made from his lecture series?

That said, I might inform some local free thinkers of the presentation in case they want to go.  I just won't be organizing any meetups centered around it.

Frank Turek shows that just because you can put "Dr." in front of your name doesn't mean your immune from the disease known as idiocy.  Thanks but no thanks, his book with Norman Geisler was torture enough.

Atheists are filled with hatred towards others?  And having 10 people a day tell me I'm going to burn in hell isn't hatred?  Being told I'm scum because I don't believe in god isn't hatred?  Having rights curtailed because of someone else's belief system isn't because of hatred?

I do believe, my friend, that you need to re-evaluate how you think toward those who don't share your belief system.  We, here at this forum, have been civil toward you and most other believers who come here peacefully.  Try walking in my moccasins for a few days, see if you still feel the same way.  Did you ever watch "30 Days" by the guy so did "Supersize Me"?  You should.  Those people learned by spending time with other people with whom they actively disagree or don't share philosophies and came out better people because of it.

Just because someone is a believer doesn't automatically mean they are good, decent, happy people... and just because one is a non-believer doesn't automatically make them filled with rate and hatred.

Besides, we don't have an invisible friend to whom we can give our angry and frustrated feelings to in order to make it all better.  We have to DEAL with it and sometimes, that means saying what's on our minds rather than hold it all in.   BUt at least we don't try to hide behind fake "love" all the time when we truly don't mean it.

It is true that he just wants to advertise, but I wouldn't consider it spam.  He DID come back and make an attempt, no matter how lame and biased, to communicate.  Spam, to me, is those posts that are made and no one ever comes back to answer further posts.

I doubt he'll be back anyway.  It's obvious his faith is so weak, it can't stand scrutiny, and that he felt the need to take it all personally.  (you know.... like *I* just did in my last post... LOL!)
