Hi all! It's great to see some familiar names!  :grin: How are you all?

For me life in general has been good. I'm close to paying off my debts, I'm fresh out of my PhD programme (December 9th!) and already have a 2-year postdoc lined up, "Trump of the tropics" is behind bars where he belongs. Life is good.

Wonderful news! I know it is such a relief after many hours, days, and months of labour. It took me a while to get used to being called Doctor, but found that the title is a key that unlocks doors, especially when applying for services or when phoning companies for assistance or information.

I still haven't gotten used to it, but so far what it's unlocked some heavy feelings of imposter's syndrome for me. It's odd, because that's not really something I've ever really felt during my graduate years. For a long time I was the only graduate student in the lab (supervisor spent a lot of time abroad and didn't take on new students) so there weren't many to show me I was screwing things up. :grin:  When new ones finally did start joining I was the veteran/babysitter and focused much more on how they were screwing up, hehe.
Bur I'm really feeling it now. Still have to accept that I've earned it.
