One thing that caught my eye was the land mass distribution appears way more conducive to human migration that the more traditional projections would lead one to believe.
The color on the map appears to have Greenland as a bitchin' cold place, along with Antarctica. My president elect wants to buy Greenland from Denmark. WTF?...well alright there are minerals in Greenland that may be valuable....another WTF....Peru has vital minerals. Shall we attempt to buy Peru? OH, alright the southern tip of Argentinas, Tierra Del Fuego has minerals too....and panthers and such.
Aside from those distractive thoughts, the map is fascinating.

Indeed, many convenient land routes. In addition the sea level used to be lower, which in some cases offered passage to what are now islands. Doggerland (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doggerland) for instance. That northern connection between Asia and North America isn't particularly hospitable though. ;)
We (more properly our ancestors) managed respectable water crossing pretty early as well. Recall the paper about seafaring hominins (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,14107.msg422988.html#msg422988) from around 450,000 years ago. The article mentions earlier sea travel (700,000 to 1,000,000 years ago) around Indonesia and the Philippines. Not to say that clever hominins were crossing oceans, of course.
The projection does a good job of keeping relative sizes accurate, which is impressive.

World maps are a useful way of representing a 3D shape on paper. If you want them for a specific purpose, then use a specific map. Otherwise, they do sell globes for pretty darn cheap.
Heck, I assume that you can even get globes with maps scaled to population, land area, average elevation, average literacy level or whatever other metric you may situationally need.
There are even some maps where them rhumb arcs run straight for ease of maritime navigation. That wouldn't really work on a globe, because on one, them'd just be arcs...
...Anyhoo, my point is... Well, it is precisely as described. Yeah. It's a kinda'-clever "area-realistic-ish" map. So? What about said area?
