Before lawns became a thing dandelions were everywhere as the whole plant is edible.
Our entire "lawn" consists of dandelions and other weeds. Every once in a while we mow all the weeds down to be one level. For about 1.5 days it looks like we have a regular "lawn," but after that, the jig is up.
Our front 'lawn' is a lovely patchwork of grass, clover and other stuff. One part is left wild with Yellow Rattle and different types of grass. The back lawn gets a little more like a lawn.
