Not sure if I'm correct on this,But. The idea was that the blood contains the life. Ingesting blood was thought to cause immorality. The same for sushi. Emperors of China or Japan ate raw fish flesh before it died thinking the live flesh would cause them immortality. The evidence of course shows it didn't work.

live sushi is why i think the japanese are barbarians.

along with nanking.

ive seen tea ceremonies and kabuki.  they dont excuse them.
