I am new to all of this, the forum, atheism. I guess you could say I am in my infant stage of atheism. I was raised Catholic, then I switched to Calvinistic Protestant during a stint in the military, then as a civillian I was Methodist... I've been around. Always, always interested in different religions, not usually of Eastern type, though I have researched a bit about Buddhism, and Taoism, and Hindu and Sikh, most of my research and reading has been from Christianity and Jewish type. Old Testament, New Testament, Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Baptists, etc.
Within this year I came to the realisation that I no longer regard the bible as fact, or any of it (Jesus, healings, second coming, rules, etc) as healthy for my children or myself. I am still lost, having theology "discussions" with my husband (who is a theist, more about that in a new post) and attempting to not scare and scar my children.
[I pushed submit prematurely]
I do not have faith in god any longer. People want me to say I am agnostic, that seems to be a constant argument with friends, etc, but I feel that if there is god he doesn't give a crap about us. He has never made himself known (in a literal sense, not in a burning bush cause they said so sense) to people (maybe some people hear him, but I haven't). After a life of believing in god because everyone told me to, I feel free in my decision to no longer.

Can we clone you and replace religious mothers everywhere with a copy of you?
Again, welcome on board,
Ma!
Same here Atheist mom of two.I didn't tell my children I was godless until a few weeks ago.I think it was best to wait and give them time to think for themselves.I've always had an interest in the Christian God,well for as long as I can remember. It's great to see more moms being so open to free thought.
I have to say that the Troll board looks like fun for a rainy day. Wow.

Seriously, can we?
(Just kidding) Welcome to HAF! I've heard the agnostic argument from a couple friends. I don't buy it either. I second and third what the others said. This is a great forum.
Happy posting!
Welcome to the forum, it's always great to hear from another "nonbeliever." I'm sure you'll find lots of support here.
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the introduction. We have similar backgrounds.
You may be an agnostic, based on your beliefs, as I read your intro. Don't think agnostic is a dirty word. It isn't. Agnostic thought is something that is completely valid, in my opinion.
We're glad to have you here. Have fun!
Hi Atheist Mother, welcome to the forum.
Hey Atheist Mother. Welcome to the forum!
Congratulations on your liberation from religion!
Welcome and enjoy your freedom here and elsewhere.
