Quote"The greatest threat to today's society is the rise of the gothic subculture. Goth is a sinister and violent subculture obsessed with Satanism, Wicca, Vampirism, BDSM, rape, child abuse, Hitler, bondage, sick sexual perversions, serial killers, death, drugs, self mutilation and other sick practices to vile to mention. Goth's are the Devil's Children. In my opinion, Goths are more dangerous to children than pedophiles" - Rev. R.G. Green
Now Hitler is a goth...WTF These people can't be serious! http://www.godhatesgoths.com/
ug.
Well, I'm glad there are SOME people (i.e. atheists) who are above this nonsense.
What? What?! This is stupid! I can't believe I'm still surprised by this stuff.
WTF...hahaha
Crazy pastor people.
...I was under the impression that this site was satire.

I really hope it is....
I don't think that it's satire. Even a joke wouldn't be carried this far. I was going to fill my post with some quotes from the loverly website, but then I decided that it would probably just feed this freak.
Time for a hangin'!
Hey, I used to be a goth! I was a frickin' bad ass ones as well. My favourite pass times were standing around on benches looking ominous and kicking the crap out of antisocial chavs:

I made it my policy to scowl wherever possible:

Although admittedly I was quite annoyed there. My sister, standing next to me, was completely inebriated, as you can no doubt tell, and I hadn't had the chance to get even slightly tipsy. Plus the cameraman was a contrary git.
Nevertheless, perpetual glaring became a habit that I have yet to break... http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g297/Jack_Joy/DSCN1016.jpg It looks as though I'm about to stab Will in the ear.
So gothism has left me with one negative trait I suppose. Other than that though, if you're suffering from an identity crisis, I recommend it whole heartedly! It's
great fun.

It would probably do these fundie wackos some good to try a bit of gothy goodness, come to think of it. It'd help them get all that angst out of the systems.
The wedding pic is entertaining. There are all the typical wedding people, contrasted with you and your sister. It's like something from a movie.

On a related note, I too have the post-goth glare syndrome (aka PGGS). Whenever I see the goth kids around town, I still feel like kin, even though I'm balding and wear almost exclusively J-Crew and AE now (the girlfriend likes to shop, and I don't mind being "dressed").
Here's to a lifestyle past, but not forgotten.

I dunno... the Landover Baptist Church is a joke, and that's pretty huge. I guess I should've said I think and hope this is satire.

I wasn't sure if it was or not.
I don't think it is. The guy tries to slip in the occasional joke but with regards to the goths-are-evil thing he/she seems pretty serious to me.

I get the surliness and the moodiness, but I've never understood the wardrobe and makeup aspect of it--too much work.
P.S. I love Gothic architecture.

Nah I didn't understand the whole makeup thing either. Or the moodiness, really... I was extremely cynical and quite arrogant, certainly, but my friends found that more entertaining than depressing. I was sort of a 'steampunk' goth, as opposed to the typical grunge/death metal kind.
And some of the music sticks with me

. NIN & QueenAdreena are still way up there. Marilyn Manson, not so much. I still like the songs
I Don't Like the Drugs but the Drugs Like Me &
User Friendly, mind you.
And Robert Smith isn't really goth... he's one of the people who really pushed 'emotional punk' music forward. Which used to be good (I'm not averse to a bit of The Cure) until MTV got their hands on it... at which people it became intolerable.
