hi there,
i am so happy to have found a forum that seems to be very active and very friendly.
i am Jennifer i was born and raised in austria, but my mother is from england, spent all my summers in the uk, and grew up bilingually german/english and later learnt frnech and spanish. that's the short version :) i tend to do that sometimes. basically i just looking forward to getting into discussions with all you wonderful people.

PS. i chose my name from John Lennon's song Imagine "You may say i'm a dreamer, but i'm not the only one".

Welcome to the forum, Jennifer! It's great to see such diverse backgrounds represented here.
Your past experience seems to be quite opposite to what many of us have experienced...you hid a belief in god from an atheist community and we hid our atheism from a religious community. I still do to a certain degree. It's hard either way.
I'm sure you'll feel right at home here on the HAF.

yeah it i guess my background is pretty unusual. it's not that my family wouldn't have accepted it or anything if i had stayed religious, i think i was just more embarrassed about it rather than anything else. and no one would have understood.
but i am glad i have now joined the enlightened crowd
from what i've seen so far on this forum i think i probably will enjoy it here.

well it's not really that impressive. i grew up speaking two and learnt the other two at school. so i've not really done anything special and i'm sure you have many many skills i don't have.

i loved learning spanish. didn't enjoy learning french so much but i had to learn it...but i am loving learning the guitar. i bet you are waaaaaaaay better than me, but half the fun is discovering new things i guess.

Welcome to HAF!! Four languages, I'm jealous. I'm half Mexican, but I know a total of five words in spanish. *sigh* I'm a disgrace to half of my family... but no, I commend you! I don't know how multi-lingual people do it...
