Well, despite how screwed up the origins of the holiday may be (which I'm not saying should be ignored, it should be told), I like what it has become. I like having three extra days off from classes.
This is my first time home to see my parents and dogs since August before classes started. The dogs are getting older, and I always worry that I'll never get to see them again, so this time is a treasure for me.
I may not be celebrating it traditionally with turkey and stuff. I don't really eat turkey anyway. Just glad to spend some time with my family.
I'm sure the turkeys are not happy...
