Butt he's god, so he doesn't really need them...which makes me wonder, did Jesus when he was a man poop?
Not trying to be gross, or disrespectful, butt after all he's god,... so I would think he probably didn't poop right? Or get erections?
Not god right, pooping, erections?
Who can answer this?

While I realize you weren't looking for a serious answer, in the Gospels he got hungry, thirsty and tired, and experienced all aspects of human experience. So, yes, he pooped.

Thank you, and while I was being somewhat flippant, I can remember having somewhat similar conversations with some Christians with regards to a tendency nowadays to value things of the Spirit and the next world as being more meaningful than the ordinary things of the flesh and the present...didn't early Christian's in an effort to extol the divinity of Jesus say since he walked on water, that if he was to walk along the seashore, he wouldn't even make footprints? Certainly if no footprints, then we couldn't have him pooping, or god forbid getting married to a woman like Mary Magdalen for example.
Interestingly enough if you do an online search for "Did Jesus Poop" you do get an awful amount of results, including serious discussions, lots of kid references, videos and some weird images.
One day I can only hope to have an opportunity to explain this to the IT department regarding this particular search on my work lap-top.

I always assumed he did, since I was taught that Jesus, while in human form, was fully human. And since he was eating and drinking in human form . . . well, the excess has to go somewhere.
And all human Jesus' other muscles worked like ordinary muscles, so why wouldn't the penis? Unless he was born neutered, as Mags suggests. But in that case, could he truly be referred to as the
son of god?
Of course, some Xtians think Jesus was simultaneously fully human and fully divine, so who knows?

The penis isn't a muscle. It's just a tube inside another tube that the outter tube fulls up with blood and the inner tube lets out stuff. All the hardness is just blood.

Well I don't know much about them either besides women like it when you touch them (although I don't know how to technique-wise) and that it resembles a penis. Hence the saying "penises are just enlarged clitoris". There may have been some lie I was told by a girl that said girls pee out the other hole in the front.

I had a thought the other day. It's what popped into my mind when Mexican Jesus died in American Gods. The religion of christianity preaches forgiveness (or at least it did for a time). Well who was forgiven? The vague "us". But we didn't do anything. We didn't do anything to the Jews or to Jesus. In fact, the old testament was wrought with God punishing the Jews, his own people. Well when the Jews killed Jesus aka God, who would really be getting even then? The Jews. The Jews were the ones forgiven by the God of the Jews for doing...whatever it is they kept doing. And they did that by punishing and beating their God to death, who was the one doing that to them up until the point. Eye for an eye right? It seems the ones who were forgiven was in fact "us" as long as that "us" is jewish.

That is one form of sickness that has not really established itself in the UK. There are branches of American religiocons (maybe a neologism there!) in the UK but they do not seem do attractive (and I think our tax and fraud laws are tighter).
However, one guy at work was a member of the Brit branch of one - I remember the effect on him when the head honcho was found guilty of just about every financial offence (plus a few "religious" ones, like greed) and sexual offences. Took a long time to get over it but he remained a dedicated religionista. I found it very difficult to have any sympathy for him.
This isn't a meme, but where else do you put something like this?
The guy that owns this van delivers newspapers to our office building, so I've seen his van parked outside for years, but yesterday when I arrive at work I noticed he had some new lettering on the side of the van (Entire van is covered with this stuff including similar pictures on the side, plus the front, both sides and rear are covered with more of random verses, and other shit)
So I snapped this picture, and walked up to the side of it to take a picture of the new verse on the side, but then realized the owner was sitting in the van drinking coffee, and he gave me a weird look so I turned and ran away.
New verse on the side said something about how God was "Ratcheting up the heat in hell for all of us atheist, non-believers...anyway I just don't understand how someone can drive around in something like this...imagine if this was your neighbor?

See that sticker on the back of the van? That dude does not read his bible carefully enough.
I find it amusing....and slightly annoying... that deep end xtians spout bible verses that suit them but never the verses that do not comply with the "God is love" thing.
In the window of a church in town a sign reads, "God does not have favourites".
Maybe not, but he apparently does have those he hates or cannot be bothered to protect. Those that he subjects to disease, afflictions, pain, disfigurement; whom he kills with fire, with knives, bullets and bombs. He has been a killer since he was invented so why change now?

Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth...Jesus Christ taught that a person is worth more than many sparrows, so fuck sparrows. ::)

Its Jesus trying to do Leg day. Or is it back day?
I remember a cartoon from my youth, where there was a football game going on, and the announcer called, "Here comes the fullback, the half back, the quarterback, and...the no back." The alleged Jesus would be a "no back". So no back exercises to speak of. I have nothing for nonexistent legs, though.

Very sad.
where i live there is still a one room schoolhouse at the foot of my property. last classes in 1915.
used to be a blacksmith and a water mill too. traces of the millrace are still there. they called the town lampville, but it was never any bigger than that.
two miles north is another schoolhouse for the town of zebra. they closed the postoffice in 1898?
my neighbor parks his pickup in it.
not much goes on. my road has been unpaved for abiut 200 years, i think.
very quiet, except for the last five years when the ventilator went in for the coal mine two miles away. but its not on all the time. the town where my mail goes is 5 miles away and has about 350 people.

It's futile trying to make sense with most religious claims. Most of their beliefs (In case of their Christianity)may originate from the middle an dark ages when they attached western reasoning to the bible. They think the flood of Noah was world over (I would say it took place within the circle) and created the grand canyon in a week. But, there would be no convincing them otherwise.

That depends on the cult :D
Not enough bums on seats is the likely cause of why churches started to promote GOD'S LOVE rather than the fear of god.

Heh. The "News" items rotate on something like a random basis. To make the "News" feature something more than merely site info / admin contact info, I've included some striking quotes from some of our more illustrious members. Mostly believers who've come to beard the old lion in its den. Where "striking" is exceptionally silly and "illustrious" is bellicose. Or variations on that theme. I like to imagine that the repeated quiet appearance of these items will sort of fossilize then burnish them to a fine sheen. Thereby refuting the statement that you can't polish a turd.
That particular coprolite was salvaged from this post (https://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/index.php/topic,17202.msg429517.html#msg429517).

It serves as recognition of a particularly ridiculous version of "evidence." Of course that doesn't stop believers from waving the fraudulent piece of cloth around as if it shows anything but their own credulity. To anybody who's spent more than a couple of minutes examining its provenance, the believers' reverence for it is risible. The "place of honor" as a News item is in fact a dunce stool.

I have to tell you, the intelligence level is pretty high here. I ain't no dummy, but the place is generally a cut above most discourse I see. I usually go low-brow, though, as it's in my roots. :-[ I've outgrown a lot of it, though you'll see some of that brow, here and there.
I don't think there's a thread devoted to that artifact. Maybe there should be, considering it gets brandished as "evidence" by itinerant preachers as well as other Christians who visit this site. A recent study of the image shows that it was possibly the product of contact with a bas-relief sculpture and very unlikely the result of contact with a human body.
"Shroud of Turin image matches low-relief statue—not human body, 3D modeling study finds" |
Phys.org (https://phys.org/news/2025-08-shroud-turin-image-relief-statue.html)
QuoteThe Shroud of Turin is a famous artifact with obscure origins. How and when it was made has long been the subject of debate among many scientists, historians and religious leaders, alike. The two most prominent theories are that it was either created as a work of art during the medieval period or that it was a piece of linen that was actually wrapped around the body of Jesus Christ after his death over 2000 years ago.
Radiocarbon dating done in a 1989 study on the Shroud of Turin dated it around 1260 to 1390 AD, consistent with the medieval theory. Later, in 2005, Raymond Rogers argued that the tested sample from the radiocarbon dating came from an area that had been repaired, and was thus newer than the original cloth. And more recently, in 2022, a single thread from the shroud material was tested with a new—and somewhat controversial—method based on Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (WAXS), which claimed that the shroud dated back to the first century AD. If those results are reliable, this dates the cloth much closer to the time of Jesus.
Yet another study (https://www.academia.edu/54237734/A_BPA_Approach_to_the_Shroud_of_Turin) examined the blood patterns on the shroud and deemed them inconsistent with what would be expected with a deceased man lying flat. In fact, the authors stated that these blood patterns were "totally unrealistic." This led to the idea that the blood might have been added to the shroud in a more artistic manner after its creation.
Recently, a study using 3D modeling with MakeHuman, Blender and CloudCompare has added more evidence to the debate. The study, published in Archaeometry, compares digital imprints of a three dimensional human figure and a low-relief artistic rendering—similar to a flattened statue—of a human onto a flat sheet.
[Continues . . . (https://phys.org/news/2025-08-shroud-turin-image-relief-statue.html)]
The paper (https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/arcm.70030) is behind a paywall.
QuoteAbstract:
This study investigates the origin of the image imprinted on the Shroud of Turin, a linen artifact displaying the frontal and dorsal figures of an adult man with marks of physical violence, using 3D digital simulations. Through free and open-source software, parametric modeling of a human body, fabric dynamics simulation, and contact area mapping were performed.
Two scenarios were compared: the projection of a three-dimensional human model and that of a low-relief model. The results demonstrate that the contact pattern generated by the low-relief model is more compatible with the Shroud's image, showing less anatomical distortion and greater fidelity to the observed contours, while the projection of a 3D body results in a significantly distorted image. The accessible and replicable methodology suggests that the Shroud's image is more consistent with an artistic low-relief representation than with the direct imprint of a real human body, supporting hypotheses of its origin as a medieval work of art.
