Title: Preacher series
Post by: Ecurb Noselrub on August 01, 2016, 05:16:58 PM
Anyone watching Preacher on AMC?  Strangest TV series I've ever seen.  It deals, in part, with God's absence from the field.  Funky characters, set in Texas.  Most of the main actors are English, it seems.  Why can English actors do such a good job with Southern accents?  Same with Walking Dead.

Ain't got TV, probably can't get that over here anyway.

But just looked at some clips on Youtube.

W-e-i-r-d -!

I like it.

I have no idea how I stumbled onto this show. I don't have any kind of TV. However, I started watching it on Amazon. I started with just  a few episodes, but then I bought a season pass. It's definitely an odd show, but it was very appealing.

I think part of me likes that it's set in a smallish town: nowhere near as small as mine, and not realistic, but there were enough elements there that I recognized. It's also centered around religion in a way that appeals to me. Actually, I can't say why I like this, just that I do.

Some times, bizzarely, we are drawn to the bizzare.

Three episodes and I've kinda given up. It's too bitty, no real story as such and, apart from Preacher himself, I don't really like any of the characters.
