Title: Quiz
Post by: Nam on April 16, 2016, 03:44:42 PM
Well, I had to submit the atheist quiz to the Religion section, which I did yesterday which was too adult for the Kid section. But I wrote this quiz in its place (took me two hours) and it got accepted in its place. It's called: Food I Loved as a Kid: (you don't have to be a member to play)

http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/ForChildren/Food-I-Loved-As-a-Kid-380974.html

It's been played 351 times since yesterday when it went online and it is my first "very easy" quiz. Most my quizzes are on poetry and therefore difficult.

This is my most highly rated quiz, and people (even staff) find it hilarious:

http://www.funtrivia.com/trivia-quiz/People/What-Terry-Never-Told-You-366954.html

It got accepted by the editor quickly and he thought it was "awesome".

In honor of one of my favorite trolls here at HAF (Good ole Nammie) here's a new quiz for you folks, and let's see who has the mathematical erudition to figure this one out. (Please when posting your guesses and wrong answers utilize the "spoiler function")

Oh, please!
Even I know the answer to that.  ::)
The answer is the year I graduated high school.  :snicker:
No, really, it is.

I mean, it's not that difficult, but my concern is that it doesn't look like all of those spaces could be used at the same time because the parking angles would cause some bumper grinding.
I had to think about it for a couple of minutes, but then I thought I'd look at it at another perspective. The answer is L8, which would make absolute sense if they're late to a party.
Know what you mean . . .

Though no good at naths I can work out most progressions and sequences in my head - can't find one here. If it is a "truck" question I am lost.

Begining to think that the there is no valid answer! Or any answer is as valid as any other. That is the trick here.

I'll give you a clue.
Imagine you're driving.
Go into each parking space one at a time, and count each time.

Not too fond of maths, though.

No.
But I see where I went wrong. I forgot to tell you to go reverse in each parking space and enter the next parking space. Each time you enter the parking space you will see the answer, or the pattern.

If you back up from that parking space where the car is right now, what number will you see through your windshield?

What's not to like about puzzles this sort?...........Hmmmm.

*None of the numbers are prime.
*All are divisible by 2 and only two.
*The last four, left to right are differences of ten
*The left two also have differences of ten
I am trying to hard to figure out something that may be all too simple

I will give the parking space a wild ass guess for the number 7 based on the previous capricious noodling. Also  let us consider that the goober who laid out the space numbers could have been high on Crack or something.

Alright Bruno, enough of the suspense. Tell us WTF the answer is.

You're over analysing it, Icarus.  ;)

The answer is simple, very simple.

xSP, I do tend to read things into evidences that may not be relevant.  Result of my engineering mindset that requires the consideration of all potentially rational possibilities.

I defer to your learned council.

I think those more mathematically inclined might take longer to see the answer. I sent the puzzle to my mother who tried for a long time to solve it, fixated on scribbling on a piece of paper and trying to work it out, instead of looking at the puzzle from another angle.

Mega hint:
Look at it upside down, as it you were the driver parking your car.
When I came across this quiz it noted that most children get it right away, adults tend to over analyze it a bit ;D

Out of the mouths of babes

I am shamed for failing to see the simplistic solution.  :hooked:

I do contest the advice to look at the numbers from the drivers point of view...unless the driver has autism or as a mirror image.  Fun fact....mirrors reflect left to right, not top to bottom images. Wait a minute.... That might do it. ??????
