Thank you for the prompt!
I figured it was a very general theme and it's something we all come into contact with many times a day so plenty of opportunities for photos!
I should add that there's a limit of 3 entries per person.
I have a few entries in but just to bump this up to remind people......
"Food" you say. Does this include drink?

Sorry, missed your question. Drink could be included too it has nutritional value!

I'm having visions of sunlight glinting off Guardians arse whilst he is laying in the street passed out. Which should still qualify as a foodie picture, what it being the direct result of nutritional over-consumption?
Also, I think this will probably be one of my submissions for the contest, but wanted to make sure the size is okay?

Also, I think the photo has to be about food directly, not the after- or side-effects of it. Unless we're making a rump roast out of G85's butt?

I think it has real possibilities as a photographic subject.
Reminder that the closing date is tomorrow. Thank you for all the entries so far :)

:) that looks wonderful!
However to enter the competition you need to submit your entry via PM to the person running the competition so when the pictures appear only the person running the contest knows which picture belongs to who.

Oops, I slipped up there! But that's OK. At least I've shared a memory of a great meal.

Well the sea food in Cape Town is utterly gorgeous. We were there for three months in the Cape Bay complex. Ate at a different place every night until we found the best ones :)

That is called a "Platter for Two" and it has mussels, white fish, prawns, lobster, and calamari.

Yes, that is true, but strangely enough, the seafood at many places in Johannesburg, where I live, is better than in Cape Town. We are about 1400 km inland from Cape Town, so the best seafood is flown in packed in ice to satisfy the seafood-hungry locals. But Cape Town has the authentic marine atmosphere, which is appreciated by tourists. I spend a week there every second month; will be back there the second week in May.

It was rather posh. We had so many staying for so long the room rate was down from $200 to $75. Bit of a bubble though. I would like to have got out a bit more.

I love seafood!
(except for sushi, can't stand raw fish)
Is this image disqualified? Personally, I don't see any good reason to exclude it from the April challenge, despite the fact that its creator is not anonymous.

Thank you for that, but as the photographer, I think that may be unfair. I did not follow the rules, so I feel that I should withdraw. I am sure there will be other contests that I can take part in.

I didn't disqualify it as such but Hermes sent me other images instead. Which they are will be revealed after the competition!

You'd definitely want to avoid sashimi then.
*Whisper* Sushi is a rice dish, you just don't like the sushi dishes that have fish in them. *Whisper*

So it can just be a fancy name for a lump of
rice? I don't know if I would like the bland rice version too though, there's just something fishy about sushi. :notsure:

Sushi is sticky rice that has been dressed with sushi-su/tezu which is a mix of rice vinegar, sugar and salt than prepared with other ingredients into small decorative servings.

The rice is always wrapped around something -- usually raw fish, but not always. One place I went to also wrapped their rice around a variety of different vegetables, and sometimes egg. I was esp. fond of the pickled green beans.

I agree with the first one as the over-all winner -- make that flour fly!
