Title: Any Snowboarders Here?
Post by: Godless on June 09, 2012, 09:04:36 PM
I'm looking to buy snowboarding gear since it's summer and there are probably sales on them. I'm trying to get back into snowboarding since it's been a while the last time I went so I'm a total noobie when it comes to this stuff so it would be great if I could get some advice from anyone who snowboards. What are some quality brands that I should look at and where are some good places to find sales on snowboards?

It looks like fun but alas I have not attempted to throw myself down a snow covered mountain with my feet immobilised by having them strapped to a wooden board.

I haven't been in a good while but the best thing to do when looking for your first board is by going to the nearest specialist boarding stockist to find out what kind of board you need (i'm guessing all mountain) and the correct length. Then basically use that information to find a deal in your price range. Brand wise it all depends what you are willing to pay and the styling you prefer.

I don't know where you live, but if you're in CO, there is always SNIAGRAB in September.  I personally hold a dim view of, as Tank put it, strapping my feet to wooden boards and throwing myself down the side of a snow covered mountain (I'd rather be in the lodge with a hot chocolate and a book.  Also, parkas are not flattering to my figure.)  But hubby is a born and bred Coloradian, and as such he feels a sort of genetic compulsion to ski and snowboard.  He likes the deals at SNIAGRAB.
