Hopefully we'll finally get religion plucked from our science classes.   :banna:

(First Kansas, now Texas - I can't seem to get away from creationist craziness in the schools.)

I saw this first talked about on P.Z. Meyers' blog and so I wrote a blog about it myself and added some links to some online petitions from a couple of concerned organizations:

Oh WOW!  Great blog and great video!  He was so incredibly elegant.  I'm so glad Dale included it.  (And as an aside, I loved his tshirt changes.   )  I'll be watching this issue with great interest.

Here's an interesting article from the Dallas Observer (http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark/2008/11/its_science_texas_science_prof.php) about a survey sent to faculty member all around Texas who teach biological science in public and private universities.

Quote from: "Dallas Observer"Of the 1,019 faculty members to whom the surveys were sent, 464 responded -- and fewer than 1 percent checked off the box marked, “Modern evolutionary biology is mostly wrong. Life arose through multiple creation events by an intelligent designer, although evolution by natural selection played a limited role.”
