Quote from: "NaturaLCalamity"Actually, for me the game wasn't hard at all. It just got really boring for me after the first hour or so because it was just some generic shooter. The online mode however is really fun and addicting. I've spent about 10 hours or so already trying to rank up. Do you have KZ2? If you do, I'm assuming you have a PSN name. We should play together sometime!!!
  ...I'm a renter. :D

My current PS3 list of games that I own is:
Prince of Persia
Call of Duty 4
LittleBigPLanet
Devil May Cry 4
Grand Theft Auto 4
Resistance: Fall of Man
Assassin's Creed
Lair (though I haven't touched it since the day I bought it.. need to install the control pack I downloaded)

The list of games I've rented is much longer.

Did you get a chance to play FEAR2 yet, or just KZ2?

Good Thread!

... do I count as a gamer if I've been in them?  :D

I've been gaming for eons.  Had an original Pong, Atari 2600, GameCube, and a Vectrex (look THAT one up!)

Now I've got a DS, Wii and Xbox360... for, uh... work... yeah!  That's it!
Got some games on the PC too.

Currently playing Resident Evil IV, Tales of Vesperia, Lit, and World of Goo.
(and the last Metroid from GameCube)

Seems like I'm good at starting games, not so much at finishing.

I'm also writing a game in my dubious "spare" time.

Sudoku, crosswords, go, chess, boggle, etc...,

Quote from: "joeactor"... do I count as a gamer if I've been in them?  ;) You should check out Soul Reaver 2. The voicework is amazing.

If you like RE4 you should check out Dead Space. It's similar but much, much better. The control scheme is lightyears ahead of RE (which has terrible controls, IMO).

That's exactly how I feel! :D It occurred to me... maybe I can get paid to do the thing I love doing, anyway! I mean, why not, right?

That's good to know - it took me a while to get the hang of RE4's controls.
(uh, duh... I have a TRIGGER button on the wiimote - maybe THAT should be the Trigger?!?!)

I've never been a hardcore gamer or anything, but I've owned the latest consoles since the NES came out, in the mid 80s, I believe.

I now own a ps3, but there aren't very many games that interest me out right now, I am looking forward to FF XIII, I have always loved the FF series. Especially looking forward to this one, with "Lightning", who looks to be the love child of Cloud and Squall, and is named appropriately.

My game list is:

Ninja Gaiden
Virtua Fighter 5
Resistance fall of man (been thinking about picking up the second one)
Metal Gear Solid 4
Soul Calibur 4

And that's it. I also play computer games, I've been slowly making my way through Fallout 3 when I can find the time. I got it because you can be gay in it. I also hear that you can be gay in Fable, and it is a lot better. You can marry people, and what not. In Fallout you can just say suggestive things to other women once in awhile, and sleep with prostitutes. Not a huge part of the game. Not that I really need it to be, but I like the option. I don't have, or plan to get, an Xbox360 though.

Hardcore Nintendo fan here (oxymoron, right?).  But that's OK because my next door neighbor took up the Sony flag and a friend 3 minutes away took up the Microsoft flag.  Actually, we've had an agreement of sorts since the time of the N64 that we would all get separate consoles and games for the sake of diversity.  This gen, I got lucky because Nintendo went cheap.   :D

Oh, and on the non-existent chance any of you have Smash, I'd be happy to throw down sometime.

I predict I'll be making a lot of posts in this thread, or at least one more when I feel up to making a list of current gen games in the group.

No, I haven't played Fear 2 yet, but my friend said it's scary as shit! Anyways, I've been playing video games all my life. I currently own a PS3 and I love it. I have:

LittleBigPlanet
Metal Gear Solid 4
Ratchet and Clank
Grand Theft Auto 4
Devil May Cry 4
Killzone 2
Uncharted

I play Metal Gear Online the most as of right now and trust me, it is very addicting. I'm actually downloading the new update for it right now so once it's done,  I'll add you Curo. Maybe we can play LBP one day.

That's the trouble with having a long handle: some sites put character limits on handle lengths and you have to just cope with that. I usually pick CurioAndTheCat when the full one is too long (though recently I've been using meiguoren or 美國人instead). I added you. :D

Whitney

I only play a few hours a week.  My husband, on the other hand, spends most of his free time gaming.  The games I play most are Rock Band, Sims, Gears of War, and Halo.  I also like some other game that I keep on saying is Oblivian but it's actually a different game...I've played Oblivian too.  Overlord is cool too...because you get to have minons.  I just started a Halo Wars campaign, so that will probably be what I play when I feel like playing a game.  We have a 360.

Will

I play a couple times a year. I don't really make time for it, so it doesn't happen often. When it does happen, though, I'm serious. How serious? I play Starcraft. Against South Koreans. And I win quite often. I came up with a strategy about 10 years ago called the "scout rush", which people tend to have a lot of trouble with. I also have a knack for cannons.

I never really got into console gaming. It's not that I don't like it, I own a PS2 and a few games (Star Wars Battlefront 1 & 2, Sonic, Soul Caliber 2, and a few more I can't think of), it's just that I was accustomed to PC gaming before I really got into console gaming. I was playing Prince of Persia on my Apple II back in 1989.

Tom62

I play a couple of games on my iPod Touch when I'm bored. Most favorite ones are iShoot and Field Runners. On my PC I play the occasional Pinball Arcade and Chess game. For me a game must be as simple as possible, I can't stand games where you have to learn hundreds of key combinations or that is more complex than blasting away everything that moves.

Kevin

I play about 20-40 hours a week. Sometimes more, depending on what's going on. But I'm a teenager it's what I do :p

I have Xbox Live, that stuff is fun.

I play: (Or liked to play)
Resident Evil 5 (Though only rented)
Call of Duty 4
Sometimes Call of Duty: World at War (Not as good as CoD4 :( though I've been the first one like 3 almost 4 times)
Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 (More the 2nd one, played it more)
All I can think of right now :p

Godless

I have an Xbox 360, but I'm a PC gamer at heart and I have a pretty beefy gaming rig that I built myself back in October for $1600.

My Xbox 360 games:
Resident Evil 5
Gears of War
Gears of War 2
Ninja Gaiden 2
Assassin's Creed
Grand Theft Auto IV
Mass Effect
Halo 3
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
F.E.A.R.
Perfect Dark Zero
Bioshock
Burnout Revenge
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Soul Calibur IV

My PC games:
Crysis
Crysis: Warhead
Crysis Wars
Far Cry 2
Fallout 3
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin
Left 4 Dead
Dead Space
Unreal Tournament 3
Bioshock (I have both the Xbox and PC versions lol)
Team Fortress 2
Portal
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode One
Counter-Strike
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Counter-Strike: Source
World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne
Diablo
Diablo II
Diablo II: Lord of Destruction
Starcraft
Starcraft: Brood War
Halo
Doom 3
Far Cry
Unreal Tournament
Unreal Tournament 2004
Guild Wars

I used to be a Diablo II addict then I transitioned to being a World of Warcraft addict until I quit back in the fall of 2007. Now, my favorite genres are shooters and RPGs. I really want Diablo III when it comes out and it will probably revitalize my addiction to the Diablo series. I've always been an RPG nerd and I usually play the hell out of them. I beat Mass Effect at least three times, got every single achievement in Fallout 3, and obliterated people in PvP in World of Warcraft and Diablo II.

Hitsumei

I also love the Diablo series, and played that on and off for years. I could not get into word of warcraft though. That takes far more time than I was willing to put in. I played a character until about level fifty, and it took me nearly a year to get there, so I gave up on it. I'm not interested in devoting the time required to play that game. I like doing other things too.
