The Magic Pudding.

Ah shit, the Dwarves are going to get befuddled again.
Lawyers?
Na, Mirkwood, spiders and possibly a racial propensity.

I wish I spoke 'stralian.
If religions were TV channels atheism is turning the TV off.

I watched the first Hobbit movie, I'm now watching the second Hobbit movie because of Hermes and his eight Wagnerian double bases.

There is a test you have to pass, this is an old version, the new version is much the same but it's OK to be a poof.

The Asmo approves of the word "poofter" and wishes there were more ways for Him to sneak it into His day-to-day conversations. Not even as a substitute for gay or any such - it just sounds... Exactly the right amount of amusing.

  Even I, the HAF poofter in residence, found it amusing.

The blame probably lies with The Goblin King (Barry Humphries).

...So apparently, the class differences in the world are increasing and Oxfam has the solution: Tax the rich more.

Will people never learn that when you tax the people who can send the bill forward, then they do? Or that when even the poorest can "easily" afford a product, its price is likely to rise because obviously there is more coin to be had there?

You won't solve poverty by moving money - better Socialists of every stripe have already tried. Free trade. It lifts all boats - and yes, it lifts the bulkier craft far better than straw canoes. Overregulation raises the sea level, while leaving the abovementioned floatation devices firmly anchored to the sea floor. Who will it drown first, you think? Something already barely above the waves, or something big enough to potentially break its anchor chains rather than go down?

...I'm losing control over my own metaphor, so quitting while ahead.

Hey, you were really in the flow with your metaphorin there, got a bit choppy towards the end though.

Asmodean

Yeah... I decided to give it up while it was good. I am kinda' known for giving birth to some pretty-damned-amazing metaphors - then murdering them by tiring them out - all within the same argument. :smilenod:

Also, ba-dum-tss!  8)

Well, I'm single again. Probably just as well. I had outlived my usefulness for her. And her dog hated me.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you don't feel too bad and enjoy the little freedoms one has to give up in a relationship.

I'm sorry, jumbojak, unless you're feeling relieved or elated, in which case, congratulations. Either way, change in and of itself is hard. Good luck to you.

A bit of Irony. Some of my local hillbilly ultra conservative christians have formed a group that they have labeled CCDF....Concerned Citizens Defending Freedom. Their big deal is to ban certain books from school libraries. They claim that the books are evil. The books have historical content among other things.  One of the books is titled: The Bluist Eyes.  The author Toni Morrison, a black woman, is a Nobel prize winner for Literature.

The Irony as I see it. The US Postal Service has recently made available, with Morrissons picture emblazoned on a USPS stamp. It is enough to say that My dumb fuck governor DeSantis is all aboard for banning Morrison's book, and numerous others, of the same ilk.  The book is about a young black girl who wants to drink enough milk to make her white and that she would have blue eyes.

It seems that the USPS is not in concert with the shit head dummies that inhabit so much of my state and several other southern states.

I am sad to say that my Department of Education is being pilloried by the ignorant bastard far right wingers.

There! That is on my mind, along with a couple of other things.

Among the other things is that my dear wife is dead set on taking a boat cruise from Dubai and other ports into the red sea and thence through the Suez canal to north Africa,Egypt,Israel, Cyprus, Turkey and then Greece. Problem is that she is neither  historically, biblically, or geographically appreciative of the nuances of the 21 day trip. That and the cost is more than chump change. What the hell if that makes her happy then I will manage to survive while she is gone. Actually I don't mind cooking for myself. I am definitely not going to Dubai on a cruise ship.

Honestly, we were seeing each other so infrequently that I'm not really gaining much. We were basically friends who saw each other once every two weeks and watched a show she liked.
