Billy, I applaud your choice of a first ballet to see. I've seen The Firebird three times in various places and I am overwhelmed every time. Please make the effort to attend a performance. Nothing can compare with the experience of feeling the music in your gut. Speaking of Stravinsky, I've also seen The Rite of Spring a number of time as well. The weirdest was probably a performance in Amsterdam, where there was practically no set apart from creative lighting and with the dancers dressed in gym outfits. The orchestra played marvellously, though.

im a long way from any ballet cpmpannies. pittsbirgh is only 80 miles though. ill keep my eyes out

on le sacre du printemps, i dont see how any production could fail to be weird, given the subject matter

The Nationals candidate for Port Macquarie, local mayor Peta Pinson, has told a public meeting that her scepticism towards climate science has "solidified" since seeing a document saying that NASA had admitted that global warming was caused by changes in the Earth's orbit.

Well look at that, NASA knows, our esteemed mayor knows, so how-come no one around here mentioned this?
Global warming is caused by Earth's orbit, she has seen a DOCUMENT!
Praise the lord she's on the job, no one besides her and NASA seem to be, and NASA is ever at risk of lefty meddling.

She has also done "research" into the evils of fluoride, though it doesn't seem she has been successful getting it out of our water, so far.

Tragically Peta failed to get voted into state government, some leftist media conspiracy involved there I think.

Homeschool? I have wondered whether a straight A home schooled student would qualify to enter a high end college  like Berkley, Cal tech, etc.....

Home school kids can take advantage of Internet professional teachers if their parents approve and pay.  The problem is that too many of the parents have questionable capacity to assess the most useful and essential courses for their children.

Does anyone besides me think that life can be an absolutely humiliating experience? Not all the time, of course, but enough to make you dread being in humiliating circumstances again? I would change all my humiliating experiences, if I could, to at least neutral. But man, some of them were rough. Never again.
