Title: Your favorite tracks of 2011 (playlist)
Post by: Crow on January 03, 2012, 02:16:36 PM
So what were your favorite tracks of 2011? I thought it would be more interesting if people made a quick youtube playlist with the music that was released last year and really excited them.

Here is mine - Crows top track playlist (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9AB20FC520E02608)

For those that don't really care about clicking on the link but want to see if there is any tracks that they like here are the listings:

1. Rustie - Cry Flames
2. Gil Scott Heron & Jamie XX - NY is Killing Me
3. Supreme Cuts - Amnesia
4. Burial - Stolen Dog {easily my favorite}
5. Zomby - Witch Hunt
6. Hudson Mohawke - Cbat
7. Bonjay - Stumble
8. Teebs - Cook, Clean, Pay Rent (new house version)
9. Shlohmo - Seriously
10. Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto - By This River

So what did others like or was the year in music pretty rubbish?

Natalie Merchant's Leave Your Sleep was nice, she's always nice.

I second Natalie Merchant's Leave Your Sleep!

I'll also add (as a matter of personal preference due to the lyrics/emotions, even if they weren't all universally considered hits)

- Adele's 'Someone Like You' as well as 'Rolling in the Deep'
- Crystal Bowersox's 'Farmer's Daughter'
- Bon Iver's 'Beth/Rest'

That's all that comes to mind at the moment. :)
