That's a wonderful photo, it tells a fantastic story.

They used it for the second Narnia movie, minus all the beach goers of course.
Funny to see it on the big screen though as it was supposed to be a magical fantasy world, but instead it was a place not too far from where I live.

Nice thread, nice pictures also.
Tank...I want your camera, amazing close up.

But my Nokia N8 seems to be doing well for good pictures.

My nephew, random picture without adjusting camera settings, quality is not really good.

Close up in the garden, adjusted a few settings.

My parrot of course has to be in there.

It's pretty amazing what phones these days are capable off.

Cute kid  :)  Nice colours in the middle shot and how long have you owned the parrot? I'm told they're really bright.

That place is beautiful. Awesome pic.

Yes it is.
But I'm worried about Stevil.
He's got a thing about framing pics through naturally church shaped features.
As the shape of the church reflects the shape of the hands held forth to pray, I fear the composition of Stevil's pics reflects his need for certainty.  Just the other day he was pledging allegiance to god and todayish he was so nearly a seven on the Dawkins scale.  If the egg shaped ball games go badly who knows what extremes he may be drawn to.

Would it help if I blow you a kiss?

Too Few Lions

I've just returned from a nice little holiday in Lanzarote, which is a very beautiful and photogenic little isle. Sod's law that I was away for the best few days of the year weatherwise in the UK!
I stayed in a lovely little fishing village next to the longest beach on the island, it was particularly beautiful at sunset. My camera got splashed by waves a few times as I marauded out into the sea looking for a good photo!

The rest of Lanzarote's pretty amazing too, it's got almost 300 volcanic peaks on the island, and the lava fields from previous eruptions look amazing, and vastly different to the kind of landscape I'm used to seeing in the UK

That last photo is of the vinyards where they grow vines on the volcanic soil / old lava. We went winetasting in a few of the bodegas and some of the wine smelt and tasted really sulphury and volcanic, unlike any wine I'd had before.
