The difference here is huge. I did not "inherit" Atheism as such, or been taught it in any meaningful way. It's merely an emergent property of my decision-making processes. A label for my approach to one specific area of inquiry. It says nothing about me applying the same standards to other such areas.
Admittedly, the hooman larva is an added bonus. As is using little old ladies as a piñata.

There have been those who have thought that they could learn from religion but atheism is a just reaction against religion. Religion has nothing to give people other than brain damage.
You can also view Atheism as the default state of individual belief. You start with none - then build from there. Some foundation blocks may be granit. Others - straw and cow poo.
