My soon to be 8 yr old son is asking alot about the world around him.I have been looking for a book on evolution for younger readers,but haven't had much luck finding something that would fit with his age.Anyone have any suggestions?

I'll bet my last two coppers that there IS a book on ID for children. A ton of them, in fact. 
Sorry, I don't know about evolution books for young readers (me being a self-proclaimed old guy and so on), but have you tried googling in more general terms like science for children? There are several science-related book series for kids out there and I'd be surprised if some did not encompass evolution.

I own all of these books. They're some of my all time favorites, but only this first volume deals with evolution.

Hard to say. It uses simple language, funny sense of humor (which gets sharper in later editions, but is nice and simple early on). I'm not the person to ask: when I was 8 my bedtime reading of choice was encyclopedia entries on fish or insects.
Swing by Borders or Barnes & Noble and see if they have them in the History or Humor section (I've seen them in both). You can look over the first section of the first book (the one in the picture) and see if you think it would hold your 8 year old's attention.

It sounds like something he would enjoy.He's pretty much into anything involving the world around him.And the humor part would put the icing on the cake.
