Oh! Look at that!
The whole conversation about Trump and his devotion to

is gone!

Yeah, it's common knowledge that software gremlins are leftist progressive.  Or was that conservative? One or the other. :snicker1:

Has it occurred to anyone that the wave of voter suppression legislation in GOP states may backfire? If the media does not let the outrageous and obviously devious state new election rules become old news, then there could be a monstrous backlash in which the Dem side gets out more voters than ever before, despite and probably because of the asinine new voter suppression rules that the Republicans, so brazenly, have have laid out. Dems may be thought of as Pussies but they are also capable of anger and mass revolt.

Also, has it occurred to the state GOP wizards that their suppression rules could also disadvantageously  affect the turnout of their own voters?

Hard to say. Some of the more draconian measures, like limiting the number of polling places and criminalizing aid (water, food) to those in line will hopefully be fast-tracked to annulment by even the conservative court. I can understand wanting to be elected to office, but such obviously criminal behavior is appalling. The "GOP" ain't so grand, anymore.

the republicans are no longer a party of responsible conservative alternatives.

they've become kooks, liars, and racists, a personality cult of donald trump.

i don't know whether trump is a cause or a symptom anymore. when he finally exits, either from age or ndictment, we'll get to see what the republican party can muster in his absence.

frankly, this may be the end of the republican party. i remember their end being suggested immediately after watergate, but these days they may really be n their way to a final meltdown.

alternatively, they may take over the government, like the national socialists.

I think the the GOP made two major mistakes in the past. The first one was to align themselves with the religious morons in the South and the second one was making it possible that a populist like Trump could rise to power. Trump splitted the party and it might take time to recover from it. I find that a shame, because there are good people in that party and you don't want the USA to end up in an unchecked one party system.

Why Was That a mistake?  It got them votes, they do better at getting elected than Dems do.
When/how did they make it possible that a populist like Trump could rise to power
Take my advice, don't listen to me.

Billy, I give you the right to turn me into a drone when I pass on. That will scare the hell out of people.  You can use it to haunt my enemies.
