I've been reading this for like an hour. In between shaking my head and face palming.
Any highlights?
They certainly did not learn good web page design or typesetting!

It's all gold. When you get in to the actual diseases (which are wild - like, "temors of the digestive humor" and stuff) you get user testimonials which are fun.
I showed it to one of my friends whose favorite quite was
Quote"One circumstance, which speaks volumes, is observable in the administration of this medicine, that every patient, upon finding its beneficial effects upon themselves immediately start up, as an active agent, in recommending the same remedy to all their suffering neighbors or relatives; an instance of general approbation unparalleled in the history of Medicine."
The thread title throws me a bit, PC. "FFS they never actually knew" seems to make more sense. Books written in ignorance were still cutting edge in their day maybe. Will they be face palming at our protestations of atheism in a couple of hundred years, after more discoveries or maybe a drastic change in gross human perception?
Was this a recognised medical text book or a sales pitch for snake oil?

Some of these are just horrifying. In a dark humorous way.
