Title: Mensa Meeting
Post by: MarcusA on April 25, 2023, 02:56:52 AM
Only geniuses welcome.

Mensa is a group of wankers trying to explain phenomenology to one another.

What is the phenomenology of phenomenology but phenomenal.

I have an IQ in the mid-130s which puts me in the top 2% of the population for intelligence but my emotional intelligence is zero.

I passed the Mensa entrance exam decades ago. I took the Groucho Marx option.

Yeah, I passed the exam but never paid a membership fee. I'd rather hang out with smart people, than "merely" intelligent, and Mensa has all sorts. There is not enough for me in that club to "unionise" my intellect.

I qualify as well, but anyone I've ever met who was a member was a stuffed shirt. Not my type.

Anything to do with Richard Dawkins is suspicious in my opinion.

Yup, and I wouldn't join them, either. The name alone is good for an eyeroll.

How do you know if there is a Mensa member in the room?

They'll tell you.  ;)

Yep. I've known a few perfectly OK Mensa members, but far too many tend to think far too highly of their mental faculties, which... IIs OK when it's deserved, buuut... Isn't always so.

Yep. Three quarters of the world's population are brought up to believe one or other mythology.

To be smart about one thing is to be dumb about other things. Apparently, Einstein wore several clothes that were exactly the same.

The Asmo may or may not wear no pants sometimes when He plays computer games. :smilenod:

...Because why would (or wouldn't) He?

You don't have any legs. Pants would be preposterous.

Some may say "preposterous," other Asmos may say "aspirational." :smilenod:

Why are exactly the same clothes dumb?
Sound's efficient to me, especially socks.

There's your problem.
No wonder you have that self hate thing.
Get some clothes, the less you see of yourself the better you'll feel about yourself.
The less he'll feel himself?
Ye that too, abstinence is next to godliness.
Oh ye, I think Huxley said something about that.

Most people?
More than half the people in the world?
Maybe, but I think we need to be scientific about this.
People are mentally handicapped by lots of things, screaming children, toothaches/aches in general, the stress of finding a pair of matching socks, genetic inheritance, drugs they resort to because of sock issues.
I can see there is a lot of work to do here.
I'm not going to do it though, science is spectator sport for me.
Only the highlights though.
Oh shit ye, don't bore me with the drudgery.
