I thought about making one of these for my site but I was just too lazy.
Holy crap...Court lives just east of me...*stalk, stalk*. Eh, hell I lived in the same town as Big Mac and we never really ran into each other...but that town sucked heavily.
That town sucks still. With its crazy fanatics and backwards thinking. Hey the Texan members should get together sometime. We live relatively close. You and Court live in Dallas and I live in Austin. I'm sure we could work something out.
You know...quite a few of us live pretty close to each other. Maybe we can arrange a meet up in a central location. Just a thought, it would be nice to meet in person those who are behind the screen.
Wellllll...only if you ladies can handle all of this handsome in a room with you..... That's not a bad idea. In fact almost all the Americans live in the southern region (though a little broad with MS living in AZ and LA living in OK but south to me).

Yeah, I noticed that a while ago, but I forgot to mention it. Not many people know where Wylie is, which is why I list Dallas as home.

Heh, I'm sure we'd be fine.
I'm so ronery on this map.

Aw, look at him, all by himself across the ocean....
You are all invited for some beers and pretzels.
Hey is weed legal over there?
Quote from: "Big Mac"Hey is weed legal over there?
Weed is semi-legal in the Netherlands. You are allowed to buy it in small quantities, but you are (officially) not allowed to sell it. Here in Germany it is however forbidden.
I must say that I prefer beer and whisky.
That's weird, considering Prostituition seems to be legal.
Prostitution with a capital P.

I had thought about this. Then I snapped out of it when I realized that I'm living in Canada. If I decided to go, the "central location" would be much further North haha...
I placed a marker in Nashville...Then zoomed in, and realized my marker is right across the street of the "World's Largest Adult Bookstore"....I recognized it because it happens to be on a street called "Gay Street".
My location is inaccurate, but that's OK. Unannounced visitors run the risk of being shot. :)
Really....:?
You should call first.
I've got a couch and plenty of floor for crashing upon. I do drive through Austin when I go visit friends and family in Victoria (the only reasons I ever go back there). Despite Victoria's suckiness I can guarantee you will get fed and furnished with adequate liquid refreshments...going to the strip club is optional.
As for the idea of jumpin' the puddle to Germany - if I had the time and resources I definitely would for two reasons - awesome beer and this:
I've gone to a local atheist meetup here in Dallas but they have their meetings on Tuesdays at 7pm and I have a class at that time, so that counts me out. There is an atheist/agnostic group on campus but the information is outdated and I haven't been able to reach anyone for information about it yet.
If anyone's up for being in Dallas this weekend I can provide entertainment to the best of my ability...and if that doesn't work I'll just give you some tequila...or beer...or whiskey....and if you don't drink, ummm, well I'll have to provide my many tales of danger and excitement from the days of yore.
...yeah I get bored here...

School starts monday here
and I have to move all my supplies to my desk over the weekend....otherwise I would say count me in.
I'm busy doing drive-by shootings and contract killings all this week (not really, but tha'td be a sweet job).
361-655-0748, call me after nine, dammit!
That's my actual number. From 1 to 9:30 Pm I'm at work so I will not respond and I do not accept Txt messages, they are disabled on my phone.

OK, I added myself, but my icon is hidden directly behind Mommasquid as we only live a few miles from each other.

more than welcome to. My new work hours are 4 to midnight and I can accept calls after nine but may not if I am by someone or busy. Normally it's neither one but hey, it's me....
Anyway, that is open to anyone, call me now for the thrill of your life!!!
I might be going to meet up with some friends down in San Marcos this weekend, so I may be giving you a call. It depends on whether or not I end up getting sick...I can feel it coming on, like an impending doom.
I exist!

If you zoom in on the map, we're standing shoulder to shoulder, like good little atheists!
Hello all. Another Canadian here! Glad to be here too. Not enough people to talk to where I am.
Quote from: "semicolon"Hello all. Another Canadian here! Glad to be here too. Not enough people to talk to where I am.
I grew up in a small town in south Texas - I completely understand. Welcome btw.
I'm added... and there are two others near me, but I don't recognize the names. But woohoo just the same. :-)
I'm on there now. Looks like there ain't many west of the Mississippi and east of the Sierras. I wish there were more overseas. You'd think, even with this being more related to website membership than demographics, that there would be many more atheist members from Europe.
I updated my location on the map...if anyone else needs to update theirs, let me know and I'll remove you so you can enter it again.
Added another Oregonian!
Woohoo! Is Oregon winning?
Well thar ya go, I'm added... I think I'm added anyway. I'm not quite sure how to use these frappr things

It's probably because atheism isn't such a big deal in Europe. America is, from what I gathered when living there, a nation of many extreme cliques: if you're Christian people can tell by looking at your house from afar; if you're atheist you're more likely to go to rallys, have NO GOD mouse mats and so on. People there are far more prone to love advertising their identities, as well as indulging them (reading loads about it, going on websites like this, et cetera). Even other things, eg. homosexuality, are more exaggerated in the States, with their own far more independent sub-cultures. People in Europe don't wear their hearts on their sleeves to the same extent so if you're atheist/Christian (this is especially true with atheists because they're more common) it's more often a case of "so what? I'm not going to sing and dance about it because nobody cares and I'm not interested in their opinion on it anyway. I'm off to watch the football." It sounds like a generalisation but I think it's true on average.
Hmmmm...map doesn't seem to like Linux. Oh well.
Southeastern Kentucky here. Someone has to represent the hillbillies, after all...
I just added myself.
i dont think this is a good idea...
Quote from: "OneWithGod"i dont think this is a good idea...
I don't believe "good ideas" ever occur to you at all, do they troll. You did come up with the "original" idea of creating two ID's for yourself so that you could have a kindred spirit to agree with your psychotic drivel. Go get a sign and a street corner somewhere...
Quote from: "OneWithGod"i dont think this is a good idea...
It's Sunday, don't you have a myth and superstition meeting to attend, tiny-brained person?
Quote from: "OneWithGod"i dont think this is a good idea...
No, no, no. You got the whole punctuation thing wrong in your post. For you, it goes like this...
"I don't think. This is a good idea."
See, isn't that better?

The not thinking part is definitely accurate.

New member here. Raised Southern Baptist, but realized in high school (when I prayed to Jesus to take the "sin" of homosexuality away from me and the response was that I fantasized about men while having sex with my girlfriend) that my orientation was natural, unavoidable and not a choice. That subsequently led me to realize that religion is outdated, false, harmful and pretty much ludicrous. Education, life experience and reason finally allowed me to acknowledge that evolution explains everything; emotions, consciousness and even religion are products of our fight for survival and are merely brain functions. The biggest scam that is still being played out is that there is such a thing as a soul that can see, hear, taste, touch, feel, emote, remember, think, decide, reason, etc--all brain functions--while outside of the brain.
I'm on the map.
I have such a feeling of inclusion! Now if only I can get the rest of my town... Hah.
how odd
the map loads but after a few seconds it gives me a 404 error?
anyway I added my self some days ago

It must have been something temporarily wrong on Frapper's end...seems to be fine now.
I put myself back on the map. Yea, me!
Just added myself. I debated on wether or not to put up a pic of me, but I figure that a location and a pic could be a bit much, information wise. 'specially since I'm 14. So I just put up a symbolic pic I drew on Gimp. It's supposed to me climbing up a cliff. I put the cross on the bottom and the IPU on the top. Location's not accurate at all, I just typed in the city and hit 'enter'. I see one other person next to me. *waves*
I just added myself. Great little idea this... Unless you are a conspiracy theorist.

I have added myself as well
+1 in Texas
I would..
If I wasn't 16 and I don't want predators after me.
The beautiful state of Oregon has a new addition. From my count it's up to 4! Gotta love it.
And I'm enjoying this website... glad to be here. I'm 26, and it wasn't until about the past year that I've really "come to grips" with my atheism, and learned to accept it and be proud of it.
Now, if I can just find a nice atheist girlfriend... it'll all be good.
f
HELP! I am trying to add myself and the pin is putting me in Oregon. I am in New York. How do I edit this?...I wasn't finished......
I LOVE this map, though.
OK, figured it out....Whew.....I think I am computer illiterate....LOL! Can't type worth a damn, either! LOL!

Just added myself... but the photo upload doesn't seem to be working. Must be god showing me how displeased he is that I'm on this site. Please pray that it gets fixed!
Greetings from Eugene, Oregon!
Ello ello from Alberta, Canada!
I added myself and my pathetic excuse for a city, tis a small one indeed.

Oh me, oh my! This is indeed a small world if you passed through Burlington, North Carolina.
Although, I think as a city with roughly 50,000 people that live here, it deserves the "pathetic city" title.
Bloody wonderful idea!
I'm on now. Who did the google map show? I could really use this on the ancestor's trail.
I'm on the map! Woohoooo!!!
I'm on the map too!!! The lone atheist in Africa
. Not really, there's a lot more of us out there.

So if Frapper goes down... so does the happy map?
Added though I don't think the pic processed.
i'm using a firefox browser and i like never update it.
is there anyting i need to "add on" to my browser so the map works for me?
Please see: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=178&start=0 (http://www.happyatheistforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=178&start=0) for new map
I did see that no one has posted in this topic for six (gasp) years. But, the reason I'm not starting a new thread is because I have no link to a map. The map link doesn't work that was posted here by Whitney in the first and last posts in this thread. I'm assuming it's because it's old, and the site for it no longer exists or some such thing.
Any suggestions for starting a new one with a whole new thread? I'll do it if someone tells me how.

Welcome to the forum, ColdFeet! :wave hi: We have a map here in this ancient thread (http://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=178.0).
Perhaps starting a new one isn't a bad idea, since many members that added themselves to that one have left the forum for good it seems. :notsure: We could use an updated map.
A new members' map has been set up. HAF Members' Map (http://www.happyatheistforum.com/forum/index.php?topic=14855.0).
Thanks Recussant.
Cor! I'm on a map at last!
