Something like a primary case has a lot of area that needs to be sealed efficiently. Modern bikes, using modern machinery make the interfaces of those parts near perfect. No leaks.
Even Harley has gone to machinery that can produce exceptionally precise surfaces that will not allow oil leakage.
My long time friend, who recently died, had several Honda VFRs,a silver wing, two Honda Hawks, a Suzuki 350 single, and a sweetheart little triumph 500. They have been unused, in his air conditioned barn for 10 years. The only oil I see on the floor is under the little Triumph. Modern Triumphs do not have that characteristic. The Brits also have modern machinery these days.
I wonder why I like the little Triumph better than the clearly superior Honda and Suzuki bikes.

A local neighborhood forum that I peruse, has a disappointing number of people who are certain that God is looking out for them every minute of their lives. Some of those people are dying of cancer, Diabetes, kidney failure, heart attacks, and other damned serious health issues. Will they never ever face the reality that their God is a cruel human invention?
Forgive me, I am a mean old bastard on a temporary rant.

Last post by Asmodean - March 23, 2023, 12:52:13 PMFalse. However, when I was young, I'd freehand sailing ships. I had this pretty cool barque (Based on the general ship and rigging design, rather than a specific vessel) made from mostly paper products. It had canvas sails, too.
I did a few airfix models too - a couple of airplanes and a tank.
Most of my model building is Warhammer 40K related though. Them, I have built in triple digits.
The next person too has a modelling "bin of sin," where all the models they meant to build and/or paint, but didn't, have found their way to gather dust and bring shame and something seriously needs to be done and why does life take so damned much time all the bloody time?!
