When war is over, so to will religion be.
The sole solution to war is the extinction of the entire hooman species.

I think the connection goes the other way and to a lesser degree;
"When religion is over, so will some wars be."
An end to war may not be an end to religion. Remember the collapse of the USSR? When the dust settled and things stabilised a little, religion re-emerged big time.
I'm of the opinion that religions will have to cease before wars will end.
Silly little hoomans will forever find something to justify their hatred.
Examples:
A) The patch of earth I hail from, is far better than the shit hole you come from.
2) My skin tone is far more superior than yours.
III) My sexual orientation is the only correct one. You are a perverted deviant.
Summary:
I am better than you, so much so, that you have to die. And, I must be the one to do it.
