Really cool story, and an intriguing mystery. Thank you very much for posting it, Icarus. Despite the seemingly solid age of the find, one comment in the article seemed to throw a bit of doubt--

Quote[Paleontologist Jun Liu would] like to see additional fossils found from new excavations at the site to confirm its age. "The authors did excellent geochemical analysis," says Liu, but, due to the eroding, shifting landscape of slumping shale, the material was not found in its original location.
