Title: Who Died This Week?
Post by: Bad Penny II on February 11, 2017, 12:18:19 PM
John Hurt 25th January, no that's not this week but there wasn't a weekly thread for the dead back then and, and, and now we've got a Who Died This Week Thread Yay. :)

John Hurt was cool and much too briefly a Who.

:(  Damn that sucks, and 3 days after his birthday, too. I watched 'Jackie' last week. I didn't know he was suffering from cancer, but it struck me how frail he looked in his role as a Catholic priest in that movie.

Mike Ilitch. If you don't know who that is, it's the guy who owns almost every major attraction in Detroit inculdig, the Tigers Baseball team, the Red Wings Hockey team, and Little Caesar's Pizza.

Piet Keizer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Keizer). One of my all-time football heroes of AJAX Amsterdam. A brilliant player, one of the best in the world.

Hans Rosling, statistical showman.

Hans died at age 68 from cancer. He made statistics sexy and usually positive.
