Hi!
I'm Rose and I'm happy (almost always) and atheist :)
I love taking photos of the beautiful nature.
I like cake, strawberrys and a good movie or book.
I believe in love and happiness.
When I'm sad, I always find a way to be happy.
:D
- Rose :)

Hey Rose!!! I'm new here too and I'm 1 happy atheist too, but really I'm just one helluva happy person. WELCOME!!!! :D
Great, another happy person.
I welcome happy people because they "throw my mean, callous, heartless exterior into sharp relief."
Welcome :)

Even if your exterior's mean, callous and heartless, I'll say this for it -- it sure isn't Hatless. :D

He needs to wear a corgi on his head.
Well, aren't "we" a chirpy person?
Hello and welcome.
hi Rose, welcome to the forum. It sounds like you have a great outlook on life, love and happiness are great things to believe in and live by. I'll look forward to seeing some of your photos on the photo thread.
:)
Welcome Rose
And I am sure that by any other name you would be just as rosy as you apparently are.
But I just have to ask (given my Jungian bent): does this sweet Rose you present to us not necessitate a compensating set of thorns turned in on your own good self? :-\
And what of we, the blissful, here at the "Happy Atheist"? Are we also counterbalanced by sorrow for, or anger at, our theistic brethren/sisteren?
Apologies to all, but the ancient Egyptians made it a practice to bring a human skeleton to parties, lest balanced (harmonius) perspective be lost. That's why, wherever I go, I'm never without my skeleton.
NS (Naked Skeleton)
Thanks everyone :D You are all very nice!

You are right, everyone have their set of thorns turned in to them self. I just don't show mine, I hide them and exchange them with my happiness. I can always find something good and smile. And with my good mood and spirit I give my happiness to the people around me. Smile to a stranger, give someone a compliment, make other people happy by doing something for them. That's the joy of life!
I'm a atheist, but I'm not angry or sad because some people believe there is a god. It's their choice. But I think that we are counterbalanced by those who believe there is a god, but not because of sorrow or anger.
Sorry about my English, I'm doing my very best! ... :)
Hello Rose

Your English is excellent, if you aren't a native speaker I would have taken you for one. I'm with you on not being angry that some people believe in a god -- if it makes them happy and doesn't cause them to do anything horrible, then good for them.

With you ladies on this one, too. :) I always assume that someone who clings fervently to faith must need it very, very badly, so if it helps and doesn't hurt, good for them. I won't judge them, because I don't know their reasons for needing or wanting faith so badly. Maybe they've had horrible experiences or losses. While I can offer them my friendship and help, I certainly can't offer them divine justice or eternal life, so that's why I don't prosyletize my non-belief. Maybe they need exactly what they've got, and find fulfillment in it... same as I need what I've got, and find fulfillment in it too.
If someone asks me a question, or if I'm speaking with fellow skeptics already (like here), that's a different matter. Then I'll yack away. :)

Friendship and help is the best you can offer. People who have been through some difficult times definitely needs a shoulder to cry on or someone who can listen. :)

Yes, I definitely agree. I've been through enough rough stuff and I've borrowed the shoulders of others often enough to know that sometimes, more than they could never need a Bible verse, a lecture/sermon, a trite saying or a comforting platitude... people just need a hug and a good meal and just a friend to sit with them on a couch and hold their hand. :)
Yeah, I've tried it too many times too. But it also makes a good feeling inside, helping other people. And making others smile, that's something that lifts me up. :)

True. Remember all the times I've listened and all the times I've ran down buying ice cream for my friend who needed me, needs me. Call me and I'll be there.
And If any of you needs someone to listen, just write to me and I'll be there :) (Not physical unless you live in Denmark) :)

Welcome. Love the intro. Not too long or to short. There are a lot of interesting intros on here, but it is refreshing to see a nice short one once in a while ;)
Hehe :) Glad you like it :D

I don't know enough french to know what the above fully says but it was reported. So, just a general reminder to please consider civility when making posts.

For the record: What in the hell did he say?
I would like to know too :P
I did a Babelfish translation of it and now I'm even less enlightened, but the last 2 words of OGs post seem to pretty much say it all.
It basically translates as 'I admire the French and English mixture, it's bloody ludicrous. However my tackle is fine, thank you, so get stuffed and up yours....
... which doesn't make sense at ALL, since nobody was speaking french or referring to his 'tackle' (god no, LOL).
Which is why I called him crazy and said I liked him. :P
..lol

From the movie The Matrix Reloaded:
Merovingian - I love French wine, like I love the French language. I have sampled every language, French is my favorite. Fantastic language. Especially to curse with. « Nom de dieu de putain de bordel de merde de saloperie de connard d'enculer ta mère ». It's like wiping your arse with silk. I love it. –
I dare not translate.
I overlooked a small detail:
I see a correlation between the two French quotes. In a French environment such as France, I do not think that it would be too offensive. But it could get "Lost In Translation".
I'm new too and welcome. COSMOS
