Democratic Socialism or Social Democracy? Because in the case of the former, I can't think of a example.

The social democrats in Germany under Gerhard Schröder (chancellor from 1998 to 2005) did a very decent job.

Indeed. There is a difference between those and Democratic Socialists.
Social Democratic parties in the West are largely "Big State, high tax, expensive welfare
Capitalist," while Democratic Socialists are "
Socialist Populism." In reality, it's "China," maybe give or take the dominant party.
