A couple days ago, a guy I work with (we have the same outlook on life) told me his bother told him over the weekend that dinosaurs never existed. The red ropes around the exhibits in museums are there to stop people from touching the skeletons...because if they do, they'll find out that the skeletons are made of plaster and styrofoam. Of course, the scientific community perpetrates this hoax in favour of evolution.
Sometimes I just don't get people...

I wrote this yesterday for another forum.
Ode to a YECI wish a YEC would tell me why,
the Greenland icecap is a lie.
One hundred thousand years of ice,
a piece of evidence that is so nice.
That we should have a younger Earth,
is a view that causes considerable mirth.

You made? Very nice! :hail:
God made ice caps old so they would look pretty.

Yes the last line is a little mangled. Suggestions would be appreciated. In it's original draft 'considerable' wasn't there but that didn't quite scan either. I wrote it in about 10 minutes so not too bad.

"quite a" or "quite the" ring nicely enough..?
EDIT: Maybe, just maybe, "a piece of evidence so nice" without "that is"..?

One can't have 'a' or 'the' mirth. So that scans but is gobbledygook.

Good point. Let me see what I can conjure up without artistic liberties
How about expanding the meaning of the line a bit..? "scorn and mirth"..? Nice semi-contradictory thing for those who like such..?

I would keep the "but" in, but to each his own.

"but" adds that extra syllable to the flow of the poem. However, it is Tank's to do with as he wills.
Young Earth Creationist tell me why,
Our Greenland icecap tells a lie.
One hundred thousand years of ice,
Laid down before Eve paid the price.
Why argue for a younger Earth?
Do you seek to amuse, our figure of mirth?
You knows what..?
We could make a SONG out of it! :D

I knew Fatwah was the wrong word, but I didn't know what the Christian Fundies call it when they blow up abortion clinics and kill doctors.

Before getting on this site I really didn't think people could be so flat out stupid, but everyday I read more and find that I am so wrong. If someone in my family told me that I would call them stupid straight to their face.

QuoteHave you read the comments?! lol...yeah, I read through a bunch of them. Leagues of people discrediting the video's pseudoscience on many different points. Gave me the warm fuzzies to know that so many people are using their brains.
I love the dinosaur puppet. "Evolution...science? Or BELIEF!?" lmao

There are so many things wrong with this argument, I would know where to start, but maybe for starters you should tell your friend to have his brother read a 3rd grade science book. LOL Thanks for posting.
