Title: back to the bikes
Post by: tacoma_kyle on May 07, 2008, 07:31:26 AM
I would expect at least a few people on here ride their bikes regularly. I just got back in it this week. Decided wasting 4 bucks in gas to drive to school want worth it. I am also more likely to do some other random BS cause it's easy. So I'm ganna start making the 14-15 mile round trip a somewhat regular thing. Cant if I go straight to work though, I will be all sweaty and nasty lol. But if I cool off at school first it'll work. I dont care about that.

I need a new light though, the one I have sucks. I dont want to run into anyone coming back at a time close to now. That'd be bad...

Oh and my ass is still tryin to get use to the seat again lol.

Try buying a new bike seat...I had a larger soft one on my old bike (which I left at school since we didn't have room in the moving truck..and it was a cheap bike).  I got the seat for about $20 at Walmart about 10 years ago...so you can probably find something similar for not much money and it will make your butt not hurt.

I wouldn't feel safe trying to ride a bike to anywhere around here...Dallas just isn't set up for bike riding unless you stay in a neighborhood or on a trail.

Oh no, I like the seat. If you dont sit on it for a few months your ass will forget and it'll basically be a literal PITA for the first few riding periods. I am pretty much good now. Rode every day this week, about hmmmm 75 miles I am speculating. Total... About 3 were off in the hills on bike trails so that is real slow riding. The rest was probably about a 15mph average.

Kudos on the biking, Kyle!  Wish I could motivate myself to do that!

I bought a bike last month, decided with the way gas is going there isn't much sense to start my truck up for a 10 block drive to work. The only thing that sucks is some days I bike to work at 5 in the morning and if the day doesn't go so well and we get back late at night, the last thing I want to do at that point is ride a bike.

Whats late? 10 blocks is cake...I get off at 10:30 or 12 at night. Work part time cause of school.

Oh...7.5 miles :raised:

Damn you young people and your boundless energy!  [/size]

Kyle, I think it's great that you are saving money and exercising, too.   I see you are protecting your head, but what do you have against your skin?   Put some clothes on!
