Hello all I'm new to this forum and decided that it would be a good idea to hear straight from the horse's mouth about atheism. So I thought this would be a good place to start.
Well, if you want it from the horse's mouth, that would me me ;D haha just kidding! Welcome to the forum Whitewater
Welcome!
Is there something specific you want to know..? Atheists are a varied bunch, often unified by nothing except our lack of a belief in gods, but we can probably satisfy your curiosity to a degree.
Hellos and Welcome! Hopefully all of your questions can be answered here, but be warned, we here at HAF are a strange bunch. ;)
Hello and welcome to HAF, whitewater. I'm sure the membership here will try to satisfy your curiosity, though some of the issues you may be interested in exploring will have to wait until you've made 10 posts and have graduated from the "Getting to Know You" section.

No, but what if a question is, in fact, homosexual..? Would that not require a homosexual answer?

Then I guess it is fine. Although, I've gotten straight answers to gay questions before... Then again, that might be why I am the way I am...

For the record, if I say "gay", I mean "gay", not "lame" or "shitty" or, in fact, anything else. That would be mildly discriminatory and homosexuals have done The Asmo far less ill than many other groups of people, so he does not discriminate against them.

Yay! I love my gay friends so I can be extremely over protective of gays in general. I've seen what they can go through. It ain't fun.

At a school I used to go to, a rumor got started that I was gay. (That was when I still though I was straight) It was brutal. Who knew guys would hit a girl just cuz she's gay? Damn. But most of them are sorry now. We were young and they were stupid. (4th grade)

I don't have the guts to hit somebody when I'm pissed, let alone for being gay :-\

Actually, many guys fantasize about lesbians... But I guess that happens when they hit puberty and that happens after the fourth grade...
I've seen some examples of homophobia in my life, but luckily people around here tend not to care. UNluckily, that non-caring tends to encompass much more than sexual orientations.

Yup. And what do you mean by that? O_O

I suspect that our [Talking geography here] general lack of homophobia is not as much a result of us being an accepting society as that of us being an uninvolved society. We tend to do our best to try not to get involved in someone else's business, and that does have a rather large downside.

Yea, up north, people don't really talk to each other unless necessary. I remember being totally surprised after moving to the US when a random stranger started talking to me

It was just strange though, having some random John Doe compliment you on your sweater while you're waiting with your mom at the ATM.

I'd suggest using Notepad to create a txt file for your desktop with the URL of that, and other smileys you like so that you can use them whenever you like.
