I think Triple J needs a new record.  Blipping heck, it's broken.

I leave you folks with one more song. This is my cover of "She Talks to Angels", by the Black Crowes.

There have been times in my life I thought I had spoken to Angels. Had a bit too much vodka, cold as ice. It warms the blood, gives you both soul and spirit...then you can write, and tell stories over a fire, maybe fall in love while the Angels whisper in your ear.

Cold streams and lakes, Petoskey stones lining your pockets.
Dad's cigarette smoke tinting the air.
You're happy as he's showing you how to toss horseshoes.
Mom is smiling up at the cottage. Book in hand.
Sisters tease you.
Jump in the lake.
Grandpa is taking you fishing...can you hear me?
I'm smiling.
I'm crying.
I'm happy.

Asmodean

Good old Sanvean. This is very close to if not at the top of my list of songs in a pseudo language. (Adiemus by Karl Jenkins is another contender for the top one spot)

In Asmo's grey lump,
wrath and dark clouds gather force.
Luxembourg trembles.

Icarus

Terrific "tin whistle" skill and a fun bit of orchestral work. From Hitari.

I have acquired Bruno Philippe's beautifully engineered recordings of all six of the Bach Cello Suites to join 16 others in my collection. Here is his performance of the Prelude from the first one (Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007). I think his recordings will join my list of favourites, alongside Yo-Yo Ma's 2018 recording and Marko Ylonen's (2016). Other favourites are by Steven Isserlis and Pieter Wispelwey.

As a comparison, here is Marko Ylönen .

QuoteTape-bow violin
The tape-bow violin is an instrument created by Laurie Anderson in 1977. It uses recorded magnetic tape in place of the traditional horsehair in the bow, and a magnetic tape head in the bridge. Anderson has updated and modified this device over the years. She can be seen using a later generation of this device in her film Home of the Brave during the Late Show segment in which she manipulates a sentence recorded by William S. Burroughs. This version of the violin used MIDI-based audio samples, triggered by contact with the bow.[/iquote]
