Thank you! Now The Asmo's stationary PC can remain in pieces a while longer. :D

I'm very fair and pretty much burn up the second I walk into the sun (I wear SPF 30 year round).
It used to bother me when people would be all "oh, you need a tan, sweetie" but now I've all embraced my pasty-whitey-ness.
"We've thought of life by analogy with a journey, with pilgrimage which had a serious purpose at the end, and the THING was to get to that end; success, or whatever it is, or maybe heaven after you're dead. But, we missed the point the whole way along; It was a musical thing and you were supposed to sing, or dance, while the music was being played.

I'm pretty pale (not as pale as my husband.  He's so pale he's almost translucent.  He doesn't tan...at all).  My dad was Swiss, and My mother was Sicilian so I have a faint tinge of Olive.  I'm always befuddled when people insist that pale people tan.  What the heck?  I usually tell them, "I don't want skin cancer and wrinkles.  Thanks."

I'm pale and I go from pale to pink lobster in 30 minutes flat!

Somehow, Asmo, that is not at all what I expected.

I've tried to embrace my pasty whiteness, but quite frankly I still hate it. Maybe by the time I'm an ancient old lady I'll finally accept that I'm not an elegant sepia tone.

Trust me, being sepia toned isn't all it's cracked up to be.  People definitely aren't sure what to make of white-ish American-ish people.  I've been Americanizing my maiden name all of my life.

To me, huge difference.  To you, maybe not

On the second one I here more emphasis on the end of the name. Slightly more assertive?

I don't know how else to describe it except that "Navarro" needs a rolled r in the middle, but never gets it.

It's like Nah-var-tho.  Only the "th" is only a whisper.

Don't worry if you can't get it.  No one can.   ;D

I hear ya. My artistic sense wars with my practical sense. Unfortunately, being white is still an advantage in a practical sense. I think its stupid, but there you go. But speaking aesthetically, I find pasty white to be ugly as all get out. No offense meant to other pasty whites out there ... I'm speaking purely from my mirror's perspective.  ;)

I'm in the same fish belly white boat.  The only advantage I can see is that so many of my veins are easy to find when blood needs to be drawn.

You are extremely pale -- I used to get some tedious vampire jokes, how about you?
