The Magic Pudding..

Hard Days Night is on, the one with Paul's 2nd grandfather, he's very clean

What does "for fuck sake" mean?
I pointed the,,, a remote at the seldom used air conditioner twice and it was still on,
FOR FUCK SAKE button PUSH!!, it's off now.
So is the TV/monitor, must be some power saving thing.
And while I'm away...
The toilet cistern was leaking, wife said it isn't but I knew it was, I heard it, drip................drip...............drip.
If I fell in love with you
Inside of a mechanism there is a little washer, not of the hole in the middle sort, 6mm maybe.
I don't have one of those, maybe I could make one or venture out to the store but they'll tell me they haven't made them since 1954.  I flipped it, water level is stable well below the drain in to toilet level.  I have had success this day!!!.
Can't buy me love, no, no

I found an impressive (dead) rhinoceros beetle in a plastic storage container on the back verandah. I would have posted a pic if I wasn't so old and lacking in energy.

Some very clever promoters have persuaded we Americans to participate in an event where we gathered to resist.
More that 2,000 gatherings across the nation held rallies on the same day, today. Those gatherings were labeled No KIngs. Hundreds of thousands, even millions of ordinary people participated in gatherings everywhere across this land.

Same day different deal. This is the 250th anniversary of the forming of the US Army.  and that was to be celebrated by a 48 million dollar parade in Washington DC. How coincidental that it is also the 79th birthday of our imperial president. He ordered the damned parade in the first place. Military parades are not our habit or preference....not like Putin, Kim, or Xi. It is said that part of the 48 mil cost of the parade, some 14 mil, is budgeted to repair the pavement in Washington,  The pavement was satisfactory but having 70 ton Abrams tanks roll over it will cause serious damage. So we will spend 14 mil to fix a road that did not need to be fixed previously, just to placate our egomaniac president.

The No Kings event was a smashing success across America. My town of about 150 thousand population is for the most part red. After all it is Florida which is notoriously....stupidly I might add...red. No matter there were thousands of people who showed up at the downtown square and surrounds to denounce Trump and his whole damned administration. Part of the deal is that most of the  people carried self made posters that expressed their political sentiments. The poster messages invariably expressed dissatisfaction with the political status quo.  There were some really good ones such as "86 47", "where tyranny becomes law, resistance becomes duty".  The many hundreds of handheld posters pleased me. They let me become aware that indeed there are a lot of citizens who are paying attention.

My absolute favorite poster was carried by a dog. The dog had posters attached at both of his sides. His poster read; "I could shit a better president".  I am still laughing about the creative message the dog owner created and the dog proudly displayed.

"Trump's latest business venture: A fragrance he says is 'all about winning"

He is the mightiest man ever, all past emperors are rubbish in comparison.
Chief Executive, Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy, surely his scent should be known as Rank.

If religions were TV channels atheism is turning the TV off.
"Religion is a culture of faith; science is a culture of doubt." ― Richard P. Feynman
'It is said that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die. That is true, it's called Life.' - Terry Pratchett
Remember, your inability to grasp science is not a valid argument against it.

There are rules in the constitution that specifically forbid that a president may use his office in any way that would enrich him beyond the salary that he has presumed to have earned.

The chump doesn't give a pinch of feces about rules, he's been getting away with trampling them for years. The Republicans stand in awe of this and seem to be looking to take the US further into a kleptocracy.

The House of Representatives made the "big beautiful bill"a reality this afternoon. In spite of the provisions that will let millions of people suffer or die, despite the bill causing a huge increase in the federal deficit, despite abandoning any hint of common decency, the house by a vote of 117 to 112 passed Trump's evil bill.

At this moment much of the nation, probably two thirds of us are angry. Here is the deal ..........the next election in which representatives will face reelection,  17 months away, the voters will have forgotten their outrage. It is possible, even probable that the same traitorous republican representatives will win their re- election contest.

I had a birthday, June 27, that celebrated a much larger number of personal birthdays than most people get to observe.

The world has treated me reasonably well though not overwhelmingly generous.  Sometime, probably not a long way into the future, I will leave these earthly coils. I will put the event off for as long as I am able to function in the normal human way.  So far so good, I am still pretty healthy, mobile, and self sufficient.

I am trying very hard to avoid emotional distress caused by the decline of the nation that was once the object of my pride. Then I have to read articles such as the one referenced here. This makes me truly sad.
