Since I live out in BFE and the local county library has a really crappy selection of anything not western, non-fiction or religious, I use this service.  I'm able to get books without paying full price, just shipping on another book, so I'm saving gas money and book money.... but I have to be patient, not all books are available immediately, in fact I have about 75 on my wish list right now!  I've even been able to get out of print books.

I know this sounds like an advertisement, I promise it's not.  Just wondering if anyone else is a member  :D

There is a barbers shop near here with shelves of swap books in it. I visit it once a week as it's next to the news agent who delivery my papers. Some hotels now do this sort of thing now as well. Of all things I picked up a copy of From Russia with Love a Bond Book by Ian Fleming, this resulted in we reading all the Bond books he wrote, very good they are too!

I get a lot of my book via the internet, because I live in a very remote area of Michigan.  We don't have a good bookstore up here, so I have to order online.  I'll check out this service, maybe I can use it.  Thanks.

My wife and I went to Illinois last week and there were two bookstores in town.  We spent half a day in them and more money than we should have.

I like the idea of swapping books. However this type of service is (as far as I know) not available in the place where I live. Most of my books, I buy online at Amazon.de or Amazon.co.uk, because  ordinary bookshops here in Germany have a very limited choice in foreign language books. BTW a great place to find older, 2nd hand and rare books for very low prices is at http://www.abebooks.com/.
