im constrained by a budget to go with more conventional rods and pistons. my pistons are already custom forged and there isnt a lot of selection in rods unless i want to spend a shit ton more money.

i always clay the pistons when i put new ones in or when i change the timing.

this time around i was hoping to try 108/111 on valve timimg, but it gave me only 0.053 clearance on the rxhaust valve. so i went back to 107/108 and got about 0.065? i look for 060 on exhsust and 040 on intake.

i just got from maine a couple of hours ago. the boys did 108.433 and 108.814 on the little ninja, both records, but the older boy did the fastest time first, so the slower record didnt count.

i put a go pro on it so i could see the tach and theyre pushing 14000 rp. before the lights. i didnt have a smaller sprocket so im ordering two- one 2 teeth and the other 4 teeth down.  if that doesnt force a higher speed before rev limiter i dont know what else to do

I have just finished the 2nd book in the Children of Time trilogy by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Woe betide anybody who tries to take this to the screen. The only way you'll get to understand these stories is to read them. How he writes these is beyond me. His ability to write in an alien mind is astonishing. They are far from an easy read, 565 pages and every word counts towards the story. I have the next book ready to go!

Some years ago I saved a few lists of the greatest books in a few different genres.

Because iocane comes from Australia, as everyone knows. And Australia is entirely peopled with criminals.

I come from Australia.

There was a website where you could grab stuff at the time, so I did, hardly visited the library since, for the odd CD maybe.
I know I'm morally deplorable, but I wouldn't have bought them, and I've saved carbon on trips to the library not made, hence I'm virtuous.

So I'm reading The Flashman Papers
Ye, he is deplorable.
Ridiculously deplorable.
I almost gave up after the first but I persevered.
He's beyond awful yet refreshingly rational, at times.

The Lost Man by Jane Harper. Just finished her The Survivors. She's a great story teller. Delivers a solid mystery with a great well-developed cast of characters.

I have taken on a reading contest with myself, with a book I recently checked out from my public library. The title is: Lucky Loser. by R. Buettner and Susanne Craig. The authors must be out of their minds to have collected so much historical data about the Trump family. Forty three pages of fine print in the bibliography. The book is a biggie of about 500 pages with small print. The sub title is : How Donald Trump squandered his fathers fortune and created the illusion of success.

It seems that I have become foolishly addicted to this damned book. There is too much detail about family behaviors, Fred Trumps clever but shady pursuit of wealth, and the mind set of the whole family, which boils down to; win at all costs.

For those of you who have the time and have the intestinal fortitude to face the reality of our new presidents mind games....  (or out of his fucked up mind games) ............Take some deep breaths and start reading this book. Alternatively, If you are not inclined to face the prospects for our national survival, then leave this awful book at your public library.

As an aside note: I suspect that this book will be banned at libraries in super red states like Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

I admire your intestinal fortitude, sir. As for banning the book, maybe in particular states as you say. The MAGA state legislators will take their cue from their Dear Leader though. There are plenty of options open to an autocrat determined to visit retribution on those who've displeased him.
