Every year I buy a whole lamb, as it's by far my favourite meat.  This is one of the best ways to grill the chops.  Either shoulder or lion chops will do.

Mix:
1 cup orange juice
1 cup pineapple juice
1 onion, chopped fine
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp sea salt or kosher salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tbsp fresh chopped thyme or 1 tsp dried thyme

Put 1 pound of lamb chops in a resealable bag.  Pour in half of the liquid mixture, reserve the other half in the fridge.  Place a fresh sprig of rosemary against each chop and seal the bag.  Marinade in the fridge for one to four hours.

When it's time to eat, pour the reserved liquid into a saucepan and simmer gently for 15 to 20 minutes, until reduced by half.  When it's done you should be able to drag a wooden spoon along the saucepan and see a trail for a few moments.

While it's simmering take out the meat.  DON'T shake off the onion bits.  Grill on medium-high heat (~400F) for 5 minutes per side, turning only once.  After the 8 minutes is up check the internal temperature, it should be 140F.  If not, leave on a bit longer.

Spoon the sauce over the chops and serve.

Here is one of my favorite Indonesian dishes, called Nasi Goreng.

Ingredients

2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup olive oil
3 cloves finely chopped garlic
1 finely chopped onion
2 seeded and very finely chopped red chilies
1 teaspoon shrimp paste
1 teaspoon coriander seeds
1/2 teaspoon sugar
400g (14 oz)  raw prawns, peeled and deveined
200g (7 oz) rump steak or chicken fillet, finely sliced
1 cup long grain rice, cooked and cooled
2 teaspoons ketjap manis (sweet soy sauce)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
4 finely chopped spring onions
1/2 finely shredded lettuce
1 thinly sliced cucumber
3 tablespoons crisp fried onion

Mix the garlic, onion, chili, shrimp paste, coriander and sugar together in a food processor or mortar and pestle, and process or pound until a paste is formed.
Heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of the oil in a wok or large deep frying pan; add the paste and cook over high heat for approx 1 minute or until fragrant.
Add the prawns and steak (or chicken) )and stir-fry for 2 to 3 minutes until they change color.
Add the remaining oil and the cold rice to the wok or frying pan. Break up any lumps and stir-fry, until the rice is heated through. In the meanwhile you
could prepare the omelet, as described below.

Beat the eggs until the egg mixture is foamy. Add the salt. Heat a frying pan and add a little oil.
Put of the egg mixture into the pan and bake for 1 to 2 minutes over medium heat until the omelet sets.
Turn the omelet over and cook the other side for 30 seconds.
When the omelet is lukewarm, cut it into fine strips.

Add the ketjap manis, soy sauce and spring onions to the rice mixture. Stir-fry for another minute. Arrange the lettuce around the outside of a large platter. Place the rice in the center and garnish with the omelet strips, cucumber slices and fried onion.

Once I get the portal up it would be kinda fun to make a "cookbook" link that directs people to this thread.

Know how to make a good alcoholic drink?  You could post that.  I make ramen noodles strangely: I cook the noodles, drain the water, and then add the spices...I think it is intended to be 'enjoyed' as a soup.

Since I'm allergic to alcohol, I don't know any drinks. However, after thinking about it for a while, I realized my brother has an AMAZING recipe for some sweet shoyu (hawaii'n) chicken which I will ask him for and share with you guys. It's made in a slow-cooker (dammit, after the Why English sucks thread, I don't know if that's supposed to be hyphenated or not) and takes almost all day, but it is worth it. Very simple to make, and ooooh so good. :)

I think it is intended to be 'enjoyed' as a soup.

Several years of reading and watching "Naruto" has led me to believe that it IS supposed to be a soup, but who cares how you eat it as long as it's good.
