Excellent performance, conducted by, Vladimir Ashkenazy, who is also a brilliant pianist. I own that very same recording. Debussy is up there with with Bach and Mozart in my opinion.

Just watched a very good documentary on Netflix about Credence Clearwater Revival. Very interesting and a lot of music. I recognised many tunes I never realised were written by them. I know them because my Karaoke song if Bad Moon Rising, it's easy to sing and short!

This is the studio version.

This is live at the Albert Hall.

One of the things they aspired to was making their studio recordings transferred well to live performance. I think they managed that quite well.

A stunning performance of Beethoven's Waldstein sonata by Su Yeon Kim. Her recording is on my list of purchases.

The Asmo is in a Pop-like mood this morning.

I thought you sought excellence in lyrics, those seem a bit basic and repetitive.
Definitely not up to the standard of Dancing Queen.

Didn't solo Fogerty dismiss the other Revivalists as a bunch of plonkers he was better off without?

I do do this Ytube often, it is a bit magical.

It's them pesky Swedes being vexatiously-Swedish.

although, so is one of my favourite driving songs;

Yes, I do tend to prefer lyrics over the melody in music that has a lyrical component, and given a just universe, Dancing Queen would have been smited before ever it hit the radio waves... And so would most of Rednex' music. Sweden does can when it tries though.

QuoteA broken castaway from where the shadows lie
Soon comes the shadow there where the sanes abide
Soon comes the castaway, he's so full of dancing
A move to move the trance in
Riding on my own I speed, riding on a road of fire
Staring at the autumn leaves, left is for the neon isles
Waiting on the road a torment, waiting on the road the doormen
Riding on my own I speed, right is for the shadowshires
Some tragic magic spoken from the neon place
So many years away and still that moment stays
So many years to go and he's full of laghter
A move to move there after
Riding on my own I speed, riding on a road of fire
Staring at the autumn leaves, left is for the neon isles
Waiting on the road a torment, waiting on the road the doormen
Riding on my own I speed, right is for the shadowshires
See how the neon lights are faltering
The sea on the left is carved in stone
See all the million lights are flickering
The right of the road becomes my own
Riding on my own I speed, riding on a road of fire
Staring at the autumn leaves, left is for the neon isles
Waiting on the road a torment, waiting on the road the doormen
Riding on my own I speed, right is for the shadowshires

I can't say I get it.

I loved this, such an excellent paddling tune,
repeated in my head, no electrical device
It's better than the Song of the Volga Boatmen
Though my version of the V Boatmen is:
ner ner ner ner ner
ner ner ner ner ner
ner ner ner ner
ner ner ner ner ner
ner ner ner ner ner
ner ner ner ner
Repeat Ad infinitum

That sounds potentially great but this (what I assume is a) subdued youtube version lacks.

Assuming I understand what you mean, yes, this song sounds far better on a good sound system. So does the Lake of Tears one above. I usually listen with good headphones or in the car, which has a surprisingly adequate set of speakers for what it is.

Speaking of music with little in terms of storytelling but where the vocals are still present,

Yeah, it's repetitive, and some sort of... Welsh? Foreignese, besides. Still, the vocalist uses her voice as a musical instrument as well as a storytelling device. I can live with that when one component can compensate for the other.
