What would the world be like if prayer actually worked and it didn't matter who you prayed to? And one person's prayer could cancel out all other prayers made by all other people?

Would sport even exist?
If religions were TV channels atheism is turning the TV off.

Prayer definitely works.
About 10% of the time if the prayer is not impossible.
This figure is based on my golf game.
Stand over the ball and pray it will go into the hole.
10% success rate within about 8 feet.

Can of worms. Do rich people's count for more than poor people's? Or if people have children? We've a current VP hopeful who claims that people with children should be allowed to vote more based on that, Vs childless. He probably prays for that. As for sports and prayer, it seems to work about 50% of the time, if there are two opposing sides. ;)

When a boy on the farm I prayed every Sunday for a  bike. So as time went by I came up with an idea. Being I had a fair amount for weekly allowance given to me by parents and made as much setting pins at the bowling alley weekend evenings , I thought I might try saving up the money to buy it. HOT DOG, it worked. I rode to school summers end on a brand spanking new Schwinn. I sat here thinking for bit and can't remember praying since. :)
The only thing possible the world needs saving from are the ones running it.
Oh lord, save us from those wanting to save us.
I'm not a Theist.

Give prayer a try.
You will be amazed.

Here's how it works:
Count all the hits and ignore all the misses.

Sports? Hmm... I wonder if the World would exist under such conditions.

It would only take one person sick enough of it all to pray it into oblivion.

Well my 'wish' would be that I was the only person who could wish :)

That world too would "end" in a considerable hurry. Still, you would be able to put masterminding the fall of humanity on your resume, so that be something. :smilenod:

The Asmo. He ought to start granting wishes... One of these days, when He's not lazy. :smilenod:

I mean, maybe you'd get a benevolent wish granter, but ye-average genies would totally do stuff like depopulate the Earth if you wished to be left alone, or move it to Venusian orbit if you wished for warmer weather, or remove biological triggers necessary for maintaining life if those could be classified as "wishes" in order to technically-but-only-so grant your wish or... Apply other such fixes, which make perfect sense to transcendent beings.

The Asmo knows. He is lazy though, so... Mebbe nap now. Then destroy the world. :smilenod:

We're entering another time of religious fanaticism. No telling how far that can go and where it takes things. Usually persecutions start from many sides.

I'm hoping that this crap is the last dying gasp before that religious shit just fades away due to lack of interest. I know, I'm dreaming.

Re the quote about "demonic Democrats".
So where does Trump find his motive?
Might be here.

It's about the triumph of the good (white magicians) over the bad (black magicians) that has been going on for many centuries.
Confused as to which side god takes. An ad in the newspaper would help.
