I recall that only ::) 1/4 of the population can be counted on to vote for the chump for what he represents. That's certainly a minority of the population.

I suppose that's for the best, Green would be impossible if he became Sage.

I wonder what all the "wrong" places on the Interwebs will look like if he wins... The last time was spectacular. So much salt - and equally as much salt mining. Turned out to just be "another president," for the most part, albeit with far less of a filter with regard to "just saying shit."

Ye well it might be like Zhou Enlai supposedly saying in the 1970s that it was too soon to judge the ramifications of the French revolution.  Trump has lowered standards considerably, a couple of more Trump types doing similar and you're in Handmaid's Tale land.

Asmodean

That could be the case, depending on what you mean by "standards."

In some areas, such as talking like a blue collar guy who gives no fucks, he did. In others - merely brought to the surface that, which was already there, I think.

Of course, I measure Trump's performance by the metric that applies to me an ocean away. Financially, I did quite well during his presidency. I was also entertained by the stupid. More so that coming from his diehard supporters and opponents' camps than from the man himself. I don't have to live with whatever policies he put in place though, and if he doesn't act or sound overly "presidential," well... I wouldn't want a politician for a role model either. I expect pretty much anybody who wants that job to be nasty on some level. Being able to see the nasty from orbit is not a negative in my book.

So yeah. Don't take anything I say as election advice - it is not and I would not give it if I had any beyond that if you are at all interested in the political course of your nation and its and your future, do your research and vote. Vote for whoever suits you - and if no-one does, vote against all, should that be an option.

What I am selling is perspective, in which Trump is neither literally Hitler nor the God Emperor (That meme is Warhammer 40000 reference, by the way. I approve of Warhammer 40K... Not so much of the meme) Unorthodox - yes. A cosmic calamity - no. The shiney-golden-blessed saviour of America - also no.

donald trump manages to encapsulate so much that is wrong with my country into one person.

That would appear to be the case. He's what happens when the American dream becomes the American nightmare.

I think it is "less" than that. He is what happens when luck meets opportunity and they have a drink with a narcissist.

in the big picture, yes.

but where i live, he is god.

Dark Lightning

And what does he do for them? Worse than nothing, he'll try to take things away, like "entitlements". I don't think many of them know what that word means.

billy rubin

why do people on social security and medicare vote for people who promise to take it away?

if they think at all they just assume the resyricyions are for other people, not them.

Dark Lightning

I don't have any real idea except that maybe they think that "entitlements" are some sort of socialist scheme, or only used to feed alleged welfare queens? But vote against their own best interests, they do.

The chump can stand there at a rally and say, "...I have the words..." and the crowd gets noisy, and then he says, "...I have the BEST words..." and the crowd goes bonkers. Saw it with my own two eyes, heard it with my own two years. :???:

I myself regularly vote against things from which I personally benefit because I have a moral, ethical or econonomic problem with them.

Just because you have something and want to keep it, does not mean you find it right, or would see it - or yourself - forced upon others to maintain it.

But then, I'm not sure how representative I am of voters in general.

No one

trump just needs for a 1960 Lincoln Continental convertible to fall out of the sky and land directly on him. It should then catch fire, and burn for several days.

billy rubin

i would love a 1963 suicide lincoln. theyre a cult car theses days. 1963vwas a great year in so many ways

or one of the pan american race cars

Were those the ones with the doors opening against each other? I think I saw them restore one on the Rust Valley show. Seemed a properly cool classic land yacht.

yes.

if you opened a back door with the vehicle in motion it turned into air brakes as in aeronautics.
